5. National Institute of Solar Energy


National Institute of Solar Energy, an autonomous institution of Ministry of New and
Renewable (MNRE), is the apex National R&D institution in the field Solar Energy. The
Government of India has converted 25 year old Solar Energy Centre (SEC) under MNRE to
an autonomous institution in September, 2013 to assist the Ministry in implementing the
National Solar Mission and to coordinate research, technology, skill development, training,
consultancy, incubation and other related works.

6. National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE)


National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE) has been established in Chennai in the year 1998,
as an autonomous R&D institution by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE),

Government of India. It is a knowledge-based institution of high quality and dedication,


offers services and seeks to find complete solutions for the kinds of difficulties and

7. SECI
Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), New Delhi is registered under Section 25 of
Companies Act, 1956, as a Company not for profit, under the administrative control of the
Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE). Dr. Anil Kakodkar is functioning as the
Chairman of the Corporation.
The corporation has set up its office at D-3, First Floor, A Wing, Religare Building, District
Centre, Saket, and New Delhi-110017.
The objectives and functional setup of the Solar Energy Corporation of India as listed in the
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) are attached at Annexure A & B respectively.
The authorized Share Capital of the Company is Rs.2,000,00,00,000/-(Rupees Two Thousand

8. H A R E D A
The Department of Renewable Energy is responsible for formulating policies and
programmes necessary for popularizing the applications of various non -conventional and
renewable sources of energy in the State. It is implementing various schemes concerning
utilization of solar energy, biogas, micro hydel, biomas Energy etc. The Department is also
acting as a State Designated Agency for the implementation of the Energy Conservation Act,
2001 in the Statefor taking full advantage of fiscal and financial incentives made available by
the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), Govt of India and Indian Renewable
Energy Development Agency (IREDA) and to give impetus to the process of implementation,
State Govt. has set up a new agency called Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency
(HAREDA) in May, 1997. This agency is acting as a nodal agency to implement the various
centrally and state sponsored schemes/ projects in the area of renewable energy in the State.

1. Green Infra
Green Infra Limited is a renewable energy company that generates power and currently
operating in India. The company is operating under diverse portfolio of Wind, Solar, Hydro
Energy, Biomass, and Energy Efficiency, and currently supplies 406 MW of clean energy to
India's power grid.

2. Gram Power
Gram Power is an energy technology company founded in 2010 out of University of
California Berkeley. The company provides cutting edge Smart Grid technologies to address
the electrification challenges in developing nations. Its founders are Yashraj Khaitan (an
Indian), and Jacob Dickinson (an American), engineering graduates of University of
California, Berkeley, who are being mentored by Eric Brewer, a vice-president of
infrastructure at Google and a professor at Berkeley. They set up India's first Solar Powered
Smart Microgrid in the Rajasthan hamlet of Khareda Lakshmipura in March 2012.

3. Suzlon
Suzlon Energy Limited is a wind turbine supplier based in Pune, India. Formerly ranked as
the world's fifth largest supplier,[2] it was since dropped out of the top ten as of 2014. The
company claims to have over 14,800 MW of wind energy capacity installed globally, with
operations across 19 countries and a workforce of over 7,000.

4. Hindustan Power Projects (HPPPL)


Hindustan Power projects Private Limited (HPPPL), formerly known as Moser Baer Projects
Pvt Ltd is an electrical power developer in India. It operates in power generation, power
trading, EPC, and development and renewable across thermal, solar, hydro and mining
vertical markets. The company holds assets of around 14,500 crore to date, and is the fastest
