SPLENDID OIL TRAPPED SYSTEM

By Sorlinaz Team

PROBLEMATIC STATEMENT:
Oil waste that is allowed to enter the sewer system causes problems by separating from the waste
water and accumulating on the inside of sewer pipes. Oil and grease in wastewater arising from
normal operations of restaurants and food processing factories will need to be separated out,
commonly by means of grease traps, before the wastewater is discharged from the premises.
Over the time these deposits get larger as more grease and other solid material builds up. Oil
deposits reduce the capacity of sewer pipes and cause sewage overflows, offensive odor and an
unhealthy environment. The cleaning of grease deposits from sewers is difficult and can be
dangerous and is carried out at considerable cost. The restaurants and food processing factories
are the main sources of oil waste and the waste usually are being thrown out to the river or sea.
Oil in wastewater arising from normal operations of restaurants and food processing factories
will need to be separated out, commonly by means of oil traps, before the wastewater is
discharged from the premises..

OBJECTIVES:
SOTS is properly designed and constructed so as to effectively remove oily materials from your
kitchen wastewater before discharge to the sewer system. SOTS is properly maintained so that it
can continue to function as an effective oil removal device and so that kitchen hygiene is
preserved. Material removed from a SOTS is handled and disposed of properly in order to
maintain kitchen hygiene and protect the environment. The oil and grease intercepted by grease
traps, usually known as grease trap waste, needs to be removed regularly in order to ensure the
proper functioning of the grease traps.

METHODOLOGY:
SOTS is a two-chambered tank positioned along the wastewater drain pipe. Wastewater slows
down as it moves through the compartments of the trap, allowing time for less dense material to
separate and rise to the liquid surface. Liquid and solid grease as well as light waste particles will
be held in the trap while the wastewater below passes out.
For small grease traps (eg. those installed under individual sinks), the grease trap waste could be
removed manually by scooping it into watertight plastic bags and disposed of together with other
kitchen refuse. For large grease traps, the restaurants and food processing factories should
employ reputable collectors to collect their grease trap waste for proper disposal.

RESULT

By using this oil system trapped, we can produce a waste water that free from the oil.
This is because water which mix with the oil become a big problem especially in
drainage system and restaurant. We should developed this system to the world.
This system has been tested, and the result is instigate. We can easily separated the oil
and water in sewer pipe and at the same time we safe the drainage system. This
system also safe the water from polluted.

Advantage
1. Launched a oil waste disposal
system.
2. Oil waste can be collected in one
place.

Disadvantage
1. Stink if not maintained.
2. Cause pollution and the threat of
disease if oil waste is spread.
3. if the system is not properly
maintained grease traps will cause
harm
