Optional Items for Extended Asphalt Mix Storage

Se pueden sealar algunos items,para dilatar el almacenaje de la mezcla de asfalto caliente.

El oxgeno y el esvcape de los gases calientes, son los mas concernientes. La mecnica de los silos debe
inspeccionarse en primer lugar.
To extend hot mix asphalt storage several items can be addressed.
Oxygen and the escape of heat are the main concerns. The existing
mechanics of the silos need to be inspected first.

1. El sistema de transfusor de aceite caliente, puede

necesitar cambiar el lquido. Este aceite, puede
quemarse y no transferir la misma cantidad de
calor.
The hot oil transfer system may need to have the liquid changed.
This oil will become burned and will not transfer the same
amount of heat.

2. Las caeras de aceite que alimentan el cono,

puede ser necesario que se alarguen, para permitir
que una cantidad mayor de fludo caliente, alcanse
el cono del silo. Las caeras largas, tambin
pierden calor.
The oil lines feeding the cone may need to be enlarged to allow a
larger amount of hot fluid to reach the silo cone. The larger lines
will also lose less heat.

3. Asle todas las caeras calientes.

Insulate all hot oil lines.

4. Cierre el by pass del sistema de la bomba, para

permitir un flujo mayor a travs del sistema.
Close the bypass on the pump system to allow more flow through the system.

5. Algunas caeras, necesitan menos flujo de calor (bombas de asfalto, etc.). Algunas, tambin pueden
cerrarse para un flujo menor. Un flujo mayor se puede bombear a los silos.
Some lines need less flow of heat (asphalt pump, etc.). Some can be choked down for less flow. More flow will be pumped to the
silos.

Items que se pueden hacer para disminur la prdida de calor de la mezcla, en almacenajes dilatados.
Items can be done to slow the loss of heat from the mix in extended storage.

1. Las comopuertas de los silos pueden calentarse.

The silo gates can be heated.

a. Puede hacerse que el aceite caliente fluya dentro de las compuertas. Instalando tubos de aceite y
aislamiento se puede mantener el calor en la apertura de descarga de los silos. Se pueden usar caeras
flexibles para permitir el flujo del aceite hacia las compuertas.
Hot oil can be made to flow inside the gates. Installing oil tubes and insulation will keep heat at the discharge opening of the silos.
Flex lines can be used to allow the oil to flow to the gates.

b. Se pueden instalar lminas elctricas de alto

voltaje (480 VOLTIOS). El costo del
calentamiento, puede ser alto. Las lminas
elctricas desarrollan temperaturas hasta 800
grados Fahrenheit. Deben instalatrse timers o
controladores de temperatrura.
High voltage (480 VOLT) electric strips can be installed.
The heating costs can be higher. The strips develop
temperatures up to 800 degrees Fahrenheit. Timers or
temperature controllers must be installed.

2. La mayora de las prdidas de calor , son

por aireacin supeior.
Most of the heat is lost from venting from above.

a. Deje el silo, lo ms lleno que sea posible de

mezcla. Esto pondr un poco ms de calor en
el silo.

Leave the silo as full of mix as possible. This will put a lot more heat in the silo.

b. El nuevo sistema de contra flujo del tambor, permitir a las mezclas absorver ms calor y perder ms agua,
antes que la mezcla entre en el silo.
The new counter flow drum system will allow the rap and mixes to absorb more heat and lose more water before the mix enters the
silo.

Pueden instalarse compouertas de doble concha en el batch hopper, para clausurar los orificios de entrada.
Double clam gates can be installed on the batch hopper to enclose the entrance hole.

d. El batch hopper se puede encerrar o aislar, para atrapar dentro el calor.

The batch hopper can be enclosed or insulated to trap heat in.
