It has a good location and it was accessible to commercial establishments and has an easy access
to transportation. The room was fine and just good for a short stay. The bathroom was clean and
the shower was good. The staff was welcoming and nice. It was a satisfying stay.

Overall, it's okay. This is a love hostel so I didn't expect much. It's a one night stay and we were
able to sleep, take a shower, and watch TV, that's what I have been expecting at the least. Araneta
Center is just across the street so it's a good stay for the price that I paid.

The hotel was easy to locate because it was big and was just along the road, though the area was
crowded. They have a clean and simple room which is good for sleeping purposes. We are
comfortable with it because the bed was soft and the aircon was cool enough. They just need to
maintain the cleanliness of the bathroom but overall, it was a good stay.

We had booked in advance but on arrival staff still insisted on giving us a numbered piece
of paper and telling us we would have to wait our turn. There were about 20/30 people
sitting around reception with similar bits of paper waiting to see if they could get a room
for 2 hours or more.
Eventually made them understand we had booked and it then took them another 30mins
to find the booking and give us a room.... the sheets did not look that good and my wife
decided to sleep using our beach towels as she felt these were cleaner.
If you want a cleap room I suppose this is not too bad but I will certainly not be using this
hotel ever again.

Temperature, Service and Wifi
It wasn't my first time in Mariposa, Cubao. Been a frequent visitor for about 5 year now. Nothing
much has changed since the first time I walked their entrance. I still enjoy the strong wifi
connection in their rooms. The cable TV is still superb (me and my companion watched the
season premiere of The Walking Dead 6) there. The room temperature is still comforting (but the
AC is old and beat up). In a way, staying the same may be negative because they have failed to
improve. The free breakfast provided was terrible, it was stored in fridge was just reheated in the
microwave. Though it is a complimentary breakfast, I believe it should be served in good
standards. A few improvements would be great to guarantee the guests' stay in their rooms would
worthwhile.

Room was a bit smaller than I imagined, but service and amenities were fabulous for a budget
rate. Free breakfast and coffee, hot water, clean bathrooms, aircon, free wifi, and cable tv. Staff
was very accommodating and helpful! They gave me directions on where to catch jeepneys and
called a taxi for me the morning of my flight. Walking distance to several public transit options
(taxis, jeepneys, MRT/LRT subway trains) and many drugstores, shopping malls, food eateries,
grocery stores, etc. nearby to choose from. Considering it is a budget hotel, do expect some
couples coming in and out. But overall, I was not bothered or disturbed at any time during my
stay. Good for short overnight stays for a solo traveler on a budget.

The New Fersal Hotels: Filipino Hospitality Made Even Better

began operations in 1994 through the very first Fersal Tourist Inn in Annapolis, Cubao. The
group of hotels grew to six locations within Metro Manila as balikbayans, travels, families, and
business people discovered that staying at Fersal means getting value for their money.

1. Makati Shangri-La, Manila

Entering the Makati Shangri-La is like stepping into a palace. With its grand chandeliers and
lofty ceiling it certainly amazes my daughter every time we visit; this is a favourite afternoon
spot of ours every time we want to take a break from the hectic city. What is particularly
wonderful about this luxury 5 star hotel, however, is how the welcoming staff make all their
guests young and old feel like royalty.
The rooms are luxurious with sublime city views, theres a swimming pool (and one for the
kids), tennis courts, an indulgent spa and eight restaurants and bars to choose from. I would
highly recommend the Shangri La breakfast which is incredible! One of my favourite things
about the Makati Shangri La is the complimentary live classical music performance every
afternoon from 3pm in the lobby, accompanied by the delicious (and very reasonable) high
tea. The Makati Shangri La is also minutes from one of the nicest malls in Manila, Greenbelt.
The hotel is located in Makati, the heart of Manilas most prestigious business, commercial and
shopping district. The Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal One is approximately 40
minutes away.

Located within the City of Dreams, a 6.2-hectaure luxury resort and casino complex, Nobu
Hotel is the star-studded creation of celebrated Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Academy award winner
Robert De Niro and Hollywood producer Meir Teper. Not surprisingly, therefore, the hotel is
pretty swish.
Theres a distinct Japanese theme throughout the hotel (not least at dinner and breakfast when
you can dine at Nobu Restaurant!) and being positioned towards the airport, there are sea

spellbinding. For kids, the big draw is Dreamplay, a 5,000-sqm interactive play centre inspired
by some of DreamWorks biggest films including Kung Fu Panda and Shrek.

3. Discovery Primea Makati, Manila

The brand new Discovery Primea is 68-stories high overlooking the business and shopping
district of Makati. The warm welcome as we checked in to Discovery Primea was exceptional.
On top of this was the fact that we had space to spread out in our gorgeous Executive Suite
complete with open-plan kitchen/dining room that included a dishwasher, sink, washing
machine, hob and oven.
But there was no chance we would be doing any cooking! The hotel offers a 24-hour nanny
service, which we promptly booked to enjoy dinner for two. We later used the service to sneak
off to the gorgeous Terazi Spa. Possibly my favourite thing about the Discovery, Primea,
however was the Salad Room in the Tapenade Restaurant, which was a first for me living in
Manila.
The hotel is located in Makati, the heart of Manilas most prestigious business, commercial and
shopping district. The Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal One is just 9km away.

4. The Bayleaf Hotel, Manila

The Bayleaf is a modern hotel with 56 neat rooms located in Intramuros, the very heart of
Manilas old town just a stones throw from the historic sights. The area is relatively quiet and
extremely well maintained a welcoming contrast from the rest of the overcrowded city of
Manila. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff are helpful and friendly. There is also the
fantastic SkyDeck, which offers wonderful views over the city (as well as very good drinks).
Although there is little to do within the hotel walls itself, theres plenty to keep you occupied
nearby. Explore the old fortifications and battlements, marvel at Casa Manila and take a calesa
ride (a traditional horse and cart) on a tour around the town a hit with kids of all ages! This is a
fantastic place to base yourself if you want a piece of old Manila.
The hotel is located within the walls of Intramuros, the old part of Manila. The Ninoy Aquino
International Airport is the closest airport.

All these hotels look lovely, Weve dined at the Sage Grill in Makatis Shangri-la and it
was one of the best meals we had in Manila. We stayed at the Peninsula Hotel a few times
and another great choice for families. The Nobu hotel also looks amazing!

Ive been to the Philippines years ago. Id love to return with the kids. I wasnt sure how
safe it would be but your post definitely assures me that it wont be too much hardship
for my luxury-loving kids.
