New Data Modules for users and going forward

Like a new type of package

Very simple to create

Does not require IT assistance

Packages cannot currently be used as a source for new data

modules high priority for a subsequent release

Reporting on multiple modules is a high priority for a

subsequent release

Dashboards can use either data modules or

uploaded files (no package support for this release).

Data modules can be set to live mode or snapshot

mode

Live mode queries go directly to the underlying data

Data Modules use uploaded files and JDBC data

connections (Data Servers) so all queries are DQM

What you should know about Authoring!

New Authoring Environment replaces Cognos
Workspace Advanced and Report Studio

Same User Experience for authoring and viewing reports

Same XML spec (New version. New syntax for new capabilities)

No new charts in this release

Existing C10 reports will use report viewer by

default
Cognos Workspace will remain in the box and
available for use as before

New Reports can be built using multiple modules

User Interface profiles not available in this release

Templates now in Template folder

Will open in a new tab and work as usual

not recommended for new installations will be deprecated
