Nahuelco Wedge Wire Screens are made of metallic wedge
shaped profile wires that are welded onto support bars at
every contact point, creating consistently precise slot
openings that enlarge in the intended fluid or particle flow
direction. Profile wires, support bars and construction
materials for a specific screen are selected according to their
physical and chemical properties as well as their weldability.
Flexibility in design and production enables fabrication of
products that meet our customers' specific needs.
Precise slot openings accurately limit the size of particles

admitted through the screen surface while the wedge wire
design allows smaller particles only two points of contact,
greatly reducing the possibilities of plugging and blinding. A
large open area for any given slot opening is an added feature
deriving from the ample selection of shaped wires produced at
Nahuelco's own wire shaping mills.
Widely used in filtration applications such as solid/fluid

separation and as media support/retention device, Nahuelco

Rotary Screen Drums

Nahuelco rotary screen drums are
widely used in Liquid-Solid separation
equipment. There are basically two
types of constructions. One piece all
welded construction, and segmented
construction in sections for ease of
parts replacement in abrasive
applications.

Nahuelco has developed proprietary designs for

different applications such as sugar and ethanol
processes, mining, waste water treatment, etc.
These designs include rotary drums that feature slot
openings from 50 microns (0.002) to 10 mm (0.4),
segmented drums for standard sector replacements,
diverse solid removal systems and reinforcements
for heavy duty applications. Drum diameters and
lengths can be as large as 3 meters (10 ft) and 7
meters (23 ft) respectively.
