Open Day Report

[PALESTINE ..IN YOUTH EYES]


This report focusing on the main events that happened in the Open day, with a brief description, since
we believe that the Picture could transmit the message obviously than the words.
For the first time, student of Youth Empowerment Project celebrated the 62 anniversary of Al
Nakbaa in which they presented Folkloric, poetic and artistic shows for the audience. The
audience enjoyed the presented sketches, song and dances in which they expressed their gratitude
to see youth’s initiatives, released in such a creative way.

The Youths expressed their skills which is a part of the educational capacity. They participated
with the rehearsals eagerly to be well prepared for the occasion.

The Title of the Occasion: “Palestine… In Youth Eyes”

Place: Saida – Khan Al Efranj

Date: Saturday 29-5-2010

Time: 11 A.M.

Attendance: the audience was impressive, in which more than 150 people were participated in
the festival, including representatives of different local NGOs.

The Festival: the festival started with the Lebanese and Palestinian Emblems. Then the youth
speech was presented by “Abed El Rahman Heriech” .

A short video presented the main achievements of the projects since Nov 2009 till now.

After wards, the youth performed a group of cultural sketches

that reflected the Lebanese heritage.

Mohammad Ibrahim and AlAHRAR band two RAP songs

Nadim Heriech presented a poem and song for


Palestine.

Sabrine presented a poem that describes the


Palestinian agony through the last decades.

At the end, the Dabka Band of Youth Empowerment Project performed a special dance, after
being trained by the choreographer “Mahmoud Zaidan.”

Afterward, the exhibition that has been organized by the youth was opened. The exhibition
included a group of Pictures that reflected the Palestinian heritage and the Palestinian villager.
The exhibitions was included a group of caricatures for the Late “Naji Al Ali” and the “Camp of
return” that has been constructed by the Youth, symbolize to the camps of immigration that the
displaced Palestinians utilized after leaving Palestine.

Evaluation:

Khalid Aasad “Official of Scout in Lebanon” described the festival as one of the historical events
since he recalled parts of the Palestinian Heritage.

Participants with disabilities from Al Karama organization, they were touched by what the youth
presented and started to cry..
