Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA)

1. At least a post high school diploma or equivalent (minimum course


duration of 2 years) must have been obtained in a discipline related to
the scope: Crops Base / Livestock Base / Aquaculture Base / CFM
(food or feed industrial processes, animal nutrition, etc.), PPM (crop
production)
2. FOR INSPECTORS ONLY
One-day practical inspection course setting out basic principles of
inspection.
3. FOR AUDITORS ONLY
Practical auditing experience in ISO 9000 or ISO 14000 series, BRC,
IFS or similar (minimum 10 days).

4. FOR AUDITORS ONLY


Successful completion of a Lead Assessor training course based on
ISO 19011 principles, that must have a minimum duration of 37 hours,
and must be externally recognised by the industry. The certificate must
specify the course content, duration. Successful completion must be
indicated on the certificate.
5. FOR AUDITORS ONLY
Lead Assessor training course must cover: applicable standards on
quality auditing, auditing techniques, focus of the audits (psychological
aspects and communication) and reporting, and it must also include a
practical case study.
6. Training in HACCP principles either as part of formal qualifications or
by the successful completion of a formal course based on the principles
of Codex Alimentarius.
7. Food hygiene training either as part of formal qualifications or by the
successful completion of a formal course.
8. GLOBALGAP (EUREPGAP) Online Training, with the successful
completion of the Online Test per revision period (once every 3 or 4
years) and per subscope.
Note: The successful completion of the online test is not an initial
prerequisite for approval, but must be completed within 6 months after
registration.

9. Plant protection, fertilizer and IPM training either as part of formal


qualifications, or by the successful completion of a formal course.

10. Basic veterinary medicine and stockmanship training including


animal health and welfare issues.
11. A minimum of 2 years experience gained after finishing academic
studies mentioned in point 1 and 3 years overall experience in the
agricultural industry. This shall involve work in the respective subscope: production of Crops (for inspecting the Crops sub-scopes and
PPM) and/or Livestock (for inspecting the Livestock sub-scopes) and/or
Aquaculture (for inspecting the Aquaculture sub-scopes). Two years
experience for each sub-scope is required, which may have been
gained simultaneously for more than one sub-scope.
Note: Chain of Custody (CoC) audits are conducted by auditors
qualified for the scope the CoC certification is required for.
12. A minimum of 2 years experience gained after finishing academic
studies and 3 years overall experience in food or feed industrial
processes GMP (Good Manufacturing Procedures).

Where social assessments are required for compliance with a sub-scope (Shrimp, Tilapia, Pangasius), the auditor needs to comply with the correct training, such as
GLOBALGAP Risk Assessed Social Practices (GRASP) assessment training offered by GLOBALGAP. The GRASP Assessment can only be conducted by those auditors
who hold a licence provided by GLOBALGAP. These licenses are provided per auditor, not per Certification Body. In order to acquire this license, auditors need to pass the
GRASP online training and test, and participate in a GRASP Assessors Training.
