ORGANIZING THE PROJECT TEAM


PROJECT TEAM May be just one consultant or may consist of several persons.
PROJECT LEADER should decide which tasks should be assigned to whom.
TEAM BRIEFING should be held before assigning the project task to the members
of the project team.

C. PROJECT SCHEDULE
Once the overall project plan has been completed, schedules and target
completion dates should be prepared for each person assigned to the project.
Figure 9.3 provides an illustration of a daily schedule for a consultant
outlining tasks for a specific project.
D. PROJECT CONTROL
A project plan can be graphically presented using two of the most common
tools:
a. A Gantt Chart
b. A PERT diagram (Project Evaluation and Review Techniques)
E. Documentation Policies and Guidelines
Formalized documentation policies and guidelines ensure that events and
agreements affecting the project findings and conclusions are properly documented
and filed.

What documentation policies and guidelines should be established for


internal use?
Documentation policies and guidelines should address:

a. A defined structure for all documentation with sample formats;


b. Timing for preparing, updating, and completing documentations;
c. Procedures outlining instructions for documenting and complying with
documentation policies; and
d. Responsibilities for documentation and review at various project stages.
How should documentation be prepared and reviewed to ensure quality
control and responsibility for the documentation?
a. Specific procedures, providing instruction to consultants using the suggested
format, should be defined for each type of documentation.
b. The procedures should also identify responsibilities for completing
documentation.
c. Quality control review points should also be established by the project
manager at the beginning of each project.
