perimeter of a polygon.
Now we will have a short game
about perimeter.

square
The AREA of Square is = (Side)2
or s2

The area of a square is (side)2 or s2

What is the area of square?

Substitute the value of the side
(s).
A =6cm2
A =6cm x 6cm

A=36cm2
So the area of this square is
36cm2.

The formula to find the area of a
rectangle is length times the
width.

multiply the length by its width or
length times the width.

rectangle?
Area of Rectangle = l x w
Given:
L = 10 cm
W = 5 cm
Substitute:
What is the given length?
How about the width?
Correct. So if we multiply 10cm
by 5cm the answer is what?

So the area of this rectangle is

rectangle has the length of 7cm
and the width is 4cm what is the

a. Each group constructs the following on bond paper and indicates
the dimensions in cm. (They have to measure the actual
dimension of the figures.)

work. Do that for 15 minutes.
