DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICATION

The microprocessor unit DIGIMAX Plus is designed for data acquisition and processing of electric signals from pressure
transducer or load cells installed on tension and compression frames. The DIGIMAX Plus is suitable for upgrading of
CONTROLS 70-C19 and similar testing machines. It is contained in a light alloy housing and its design satisfies the
ergonomic requirements for various use.

HARDWARE
The main characteristic are:
Multy-layer main board with SMD technology
chip clock/calendar;
large permanent memory to store input data and test results;
two RS 232 serial ports for connecting PC and printer;
two analogical channels (1 for strain gauge pressure transducer
or load cell and 1 for linear potentiometric transducer);
graphic display with resolution 240 x 128 pixel;
dimension 250 x 220 x 150 mm;
approx net weight: 2 kg.
INTERNAL SOFTWARE (FIRMWARE)
The test is menu driven by the large 240 x 128 pixel display and by a
10 buttons membrane keyboards, 4 of which are interactive with the
specific icon of each menu.
The main features, which are however shown in the examples of
the these pages, are the following:
language selection: English, French, Spanish and Italian;
unit selection: kN, t, lbf, mm, in;
for TENSILE TEST:
- simultaneos display of load, stress and, only using an
extensometer, elongation measurements;
- graph option of test data showing simultaneously load/
elongation courve (only using an extensometer);
- elaboration of results after test completion: ReH, ReL or Rp as
alternative use adjustable, final elongation (if possible),
adjustable plot scale;
for COMPRESSION TEST
- simultaneous display of load and stress measurements;
up to 100 tests stored permanently including individual test
settings and results;
machine calibration via software by keyboards;
easy management of stored data;

Display in real time of the stress/strain curve.

Tension test result.

Option calibration. Its possible, if necessary, to correct

the calibration by the software,adjusting the
calibration coefficient using a suitable load cell.

MAIN APPLICATION OF THE DIGIMAX PLUS

The DIGIMAX Plus is suitable for upgrading of CONTROLS 70-C19 or similar testing machines. This can be done easily and economically as described below.

Connection to the printer
The DIGIMAX Plus can be connected to 24 column serial printer by the RS 232 serial port . Our models 82-P171 (mains operated) or 82-P171/A (battery
operated) can be conveniently used for these purpose, furtheremore they can be easily fitted on top of the DIGIMAX Plus by the fitting holes provided.

PC software for data processing (extensometer needed)

The DIGIMAX Plus can be easily connected to a PC. A special software, suitable for use
with Windows 98 or higher, allows:

to enter the main characteristics of the specimen, client and test;

a real-time serial comunication between Digimax Plus and PC*;

to display on PC the stress/strain diagram in real-time during test execution*;

to execute analysis of the diagram and calculate the parameters of the test
according to EN 10002*;

to display the failure values;

display data, graphics and tables of the parameters of the test*;

to save (also in ASCII format) and print reports, graphics and tables of single or
batch test
