Platform failovers are transparent to other nodes
Standby platform is synchronized on configuration data and call/session states
Ready to take over as Active if the failover happens
System management IP addresses and session IP addresses are shared (floating)
between paired platforms
In case of platform failover, the standby takes up active role and acquires
session and management IP addresses
Call/session state mirroring allows for serving of existing call/sessions in case of
platform failover or switchovers
New calls seamlessly served by newly active platform
Note: Sessions involving H.323 legs are not preserved across platform failovers
