BETWEEN MENGKUDU JUICE (Morinda citrifolia) AND ASPIRIN The study on the onset of pain by using hot plate method within mice (Mus musculus) Akhmad Setyo Rahman Aspirin has been known to have an analgesic effect and mengkudu juice contains alkaloids, flavonoids, and scopoletin alleged to have analgesic effects too. The aims of this were to determine the pharmacodynamic interaction of analgesic effect between mengkudu juice and aspirin in mice induced by hot plate. This was an experimental study conducted in 6 groups. Group I were given 0.5 ml of distilled water (negative control), group II were given given mengkudu juice with dose of 0.042 mg/g BW (positive control I), group III were given aspirin at a dose of 0.065 mg/gBW (positive control II), and group IV-VI were given a combination of mengkudu juice at a dose of 0.042 mg/g and aspirin at a dose of 0.01625 mg/grBW, 0.0325 mg/grBW, and 0.065 mg/gBW. The treatment was given for 7 days. The results showed an average onset of pain were 5.36 seconds, 8.28 seconds, 8.74 seconds, 10.16 seconds, 11.09 seconds, and 14.92 seconds for group I, II, III, IV, V and VI, respectively. Statistical anaysis using Kruskal-Wallis showed that that there were significant differences between groups with p = 0.000, with the most potential analgesic effect is dose aspirin group with 0.065 mg/ gBW. It can be concluded that there is a synergistic interaction between mengkudu fruit juice combination with aspirin in mice. Keywords: mengkudu juice, analgesics, aspirin, pharmacodynamic interaction
