MANUSCRIPTPREPARATIONGeneralGuidelines

Manuscripts submitted for consideration to ANNALS of Faculty Engineering Hunedoara

International Journal of Engineering must conform to the following requirements that will facilitate
preparationofthearticleforpublication.Theseinstructionsarewritteninaformthatsatisfiesallofthe
formatting requirements for the author manuscript. Please use them as a template in preparing your
manuscript.Authorsmusttakespecialcaretofollowtheseinstructionsconcerningmargins.Thebasic
instructionsandmanuscriptrequirementsaresimple:
ManuscriptshallbeformattedforanA4sizepage.
Theallmargins(top,bottom,left,andright)shallbe25mm.
Thetextshallhaveboththeleftandrightmarginsjustified.
Singlespacedtext,tables,andreferences,writtenwith11or12pointGeorgiaorTimesRoman
typeface.
NoLinenumberingonanypagesandnopagenumbers.
Manuscriptlengthmustnotexceed15pages(includingtextandreferences).
Numberoffiguresandtablescombinedmustnotexceed20.
Manuscriptsthatexceedtheseguidelineswillbesubjecttoreductionsinlength.
Theoriginalofthetechnicalpaperwillbesentthroughemailasattacheddocument(*.doc,Windows
95 or higher). Manuscripts should be submitted to email: redactie@fih.upt.ro, with mention for

STRUCTURE
The manuscript should be organized in the following order: Title of the paper, Authors names and
affiliation,Abstract,KeyWords,Introduction,Bodyofthepaper(insequentialheadings),Conclusion,
Acknowledgements(whereapplicable),References,andAppendices(whereapplicable).
THETITLE
The title is centered on the page and is CAPITALIZED AND SET IN BOLDFACE (font size 14 pt). It
should adequately describe the content of the paper. An abbreviated title of less than 60 characters
(includingspaces)shouldalsobesuggested.Maximumlengthoftitle:20words.
AUTHORSNAMEANDAFFILIATION
Theauthorsname(s)followsthetitleandisalsocenteredonthepage(fontsize11pt).Ablanklineis
required between the title and the authors name(s). Last names should be spelled out in full and
succeededbyauthorsinitials.Theauthorsaffiliation(infontsize11pt)isprovidedbelow.Phoneand
faxnumbersdonotappear.
ABSTRACT
State the papers purpose, methods or procedures presentation, new results, and conclusions are
presented.Anonmathematicalabstract,notexceeding200words,isrequiredforallpapers.Itshould
be an abbreviated, accurate presentation of the contents of the paper. It should contain sufficient
informationtoenablereaderstodecidewhethertheyshouldobtainandreadtheentirepaper.Donot
citereferencesintheabstract.
KEYWORDS
Theauthorshouldprovidealistofthreetofivekeywordsthatclearlydescribethesubjectmatterofthe
paper.

TEXTLAYOUT
Themanuscriptmustbetypedsinglespacing.Useextralinespacingbetweenequations,illustrations,
figuresandtables.ThebodyofthetextshouldbepreparedusingGeorgiaorTimesNewRoman.The
fontsizeusedforpreparationofthemanuscriptmustbe11or12points.Thefirstparagraphfollowing
aheadingshouldnotbeindented.Thefollowingparagraphsmustbeindented10mm.Notethatthere
isnolinespacingbetweenparagraphsunlessasubheadingisused.Symbolsforphysicalquantitiesin
thetextshouldbewritteninitalics.Concludethetextwithasummaryorconclusionsection.Spellout
allinitials,acronyms,orabbreviations(notunitsofmeasure)atfirstuse.Puttheinitialsorabbreviation
inparenthesesafterthespelledoutversion.Themanuscriptmustbewritinginthethirdperson(the
authorconcludes...).
FIGURESANDTABLES
Figures(diagramsandphotographs)shouldbenumberedconsecutivelyusingArabicnumbers.They
shouldbeplacedinthetextsoonafterthepointwheretheyarereferenced.Figuresshouldbecentered
inacolumnandshouldhaveafigurecaptionplacedunderneath.Captionsshouldbecenteredinthe
column,intheformatFigure1andareinupperandlowercaseletters.Whenreferringtoafigurein
thebodyofthetext,theabbreviationFigureisusedIllustrationsmustbesubmittedindigitalformat,
withagoodresolution.Tablecaptionsappearcenteredabovethetableinupperandlowercaseletters.
When referring to a table in the text, Table with the proper number is used. Captions should be
centered in the column, in the format Table 1 and are in upper and lower case letters. Tables are
numberedconsecutivelyandindependentlyofanyfigures.Allfiguresandtablesmustbeincorporated
intothetext.
EQUATIONSANDMATHEMATICALEXPRESSIONS
Placeequationsonseparatelines,centered,andnumberedinparenthesesattherightmargin.Equation
numbers should appear in parentheses and be numbered consecutively. All equation numbers must
appearontherighthandsideoftheequationandshouldbereferredtowithinthetext.
CONCLUSION
A conclusion section must be included and should indicate clearly the advantages, limitations and
possibleapplicationsofthepaper.Discussaboutfuturework.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
An acknowledgement section may be presented after the conclusion, if desired. Individuals or units
other than authors who were of direct help in the work could be acknowledged by a brief statement
followingthetext.Theacknowledgmentshouldgiveessentialcredits,butitslengthshouldbekepttoa
minimum;wordcountshouldbe<100words.
REFERENCES
Referencesshouldbelistedtogetherattheendofthepaperinalphabeticalorderbyauthorssurname.
Listofreferencesindent10mmfromthesecondlineofeachreferences.Personalcommunicationsand
unpublisheddataarenotacceptablereferences.
