Singapore 14 October, 2016 Homegrown energy management company Barghest Building
Performance Pte Ltd (BBP) received the Energy Management Solutions Entrepreneurial
Company of the Year Award at Frost & Sullivans 2016 Excellence Awards.
The Frost & Sullivan Excellence Awards honour companies that have demonstrated excellence
in their respective industries. Candidate companies are identified based on in-depth interviews,
analysis and extensive secondary research. They are subsequently assessed on their revenue,
BBP is IMDA-accredited and works with several clients in Singapore to reduce energy usage
and achieve the Building and Construction Authorities Green Mark award for their buildings. In
tropical countries such as Singapore, a significant portion of ongoing building costs can be
attributed to inefficient Heating Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) operations.
BBP adds a layer of intelligence to existing HVAC systems at no upfront cost, and is paid a
portion of clients dollar savings. Using its patent pending algorithm, the solution actively
controls and balances different HVAC components to perform in the most energy-efficient
manner, without any impact on its clients day-to-day operations.
The Energy Management Solutions Entrepreneurial Company of the Year Award recognises
BBPs potential as a company, having demonstrated excellence in growth, innovation and
leadership. Such excellence typically translates into superior performance in three key areas:
demand generation, brand development and competitive positioning.
Mr. Poyan Rajamand, CEO of BBP, said: At BBP, we believe that energy efficiency should
make business sense. Our solution can be installed within weeks with no impact on day-to-day
operations and no financial costs, which gives us real customer appeal. This prestigious award
from Frost & Sullivan is a testament to our teams hard work and innovative offerings.
Mr. Suchitra Sriram, Senior Consultant at Frost & Sullivan - Energy & Environment, Asia
Pacific said: "BBP's highly-focused value proposition in the Singapore energy management
solutions market tackles energy efficiency challenges for several existing commercial and
industrial buildings, enabling customers to operate profitably and efficiently.
The company's innovative software, especially in the HVAC segment, can be seamlessly
integrated into existing buildings allowing customers to adopt a highly cost-effective solution
without operational disruption. With immense potential to expand its customer base, BBP is
well-positioned to create a brand-defining customer ownership experience in a highly
competitive market," Mr. Sriram added.
In August 2016, BBP received the accreditation status under the Accreditation@IMDA
programme. The accreditation status provides assurance on BBPs product capabilities and
delivery capabilities to its customers. Through the market access platforms established by
Accreditation@IMDA, BBP will be able to gain more traction within the Singapore government
and enterprise sectors.
Mr Edwin Low, Director of Accreditation@IMDA, said: We are extremely pleased that BBP
has been awarded the Energy Management Solutions Entrepreneurial Company of the Year by
Frost & Sullivan. It is yet another testament to the growth potential of this company. We are
looking forward to work with Poyan and team to grow their business.
BBP currently operates in Singapore and Malaysia. It is exploring opportunities to expand its
footprint throughout Southeast Asia.
