FOCUS OF STUDY:
A. Background
Taman Hutan Raya Ir.H.Djuanda Dago Pakar, most people call it Tahura and
located in Komplek Tahura Ir.H.Djuanda No.99 Dago Pakar, Bandung, West Java
with 526,96 hectare area. Taman Hutan Raya, better known by local people as
Dago Pakar is an urban forest which is about 3 km from Dago Terminal. Taman
Hutan Raya is at an altitude of 800 to 1350 M above sea level. A few activities
that you all can doing in Taman Hutan Raya like visiting Japanese and
Netherlands Cave,etc.
Our reason why we choose this place for our research is because Taman Hutan
Raya is a protected areas in Bandung but there are many buildings that built in
the area of Taman Hutan Raya. According to the rules that protected area like
Taman Hutan Raya cant built many buildings because can disrupt the balance
and preservation of nature. This picture would be explain that there is building
which sells food and drinks, and our group thinks that treatment could be ruining
Taman Hutan Raya in the future.
B. Theory
In Oka A. Yeti (1997 : 165 ) argues that the success of a tourist until the
achievement of the tourist areas are very dependent on 3A attractions
( attraction) , accessible ( accessibility ) , and facilities ( amenities) .
1 ) Things to Do ( attraction)
Tourist attractions such as the one prepared beforehand in order to be seen,
enjoyed and included in this are: dancing, singing traditional folk arts , traditional
ceremonies , and others . In Oka A. Yoeti (1997 : 172 ) spontance attractive
tourism called , of all things that are in the tourist destination that is an
attraction that people want to come for a visit to a tourist destination are:

Tourism activities depends a lot on transportation and communication because of

the distance and time that greatly affect a person's desire to travel . The most
important element in accessibility is transport, meaning that the frequency of
use , its speed can result as if the distance to be close .
In addition to transportation infrastructure relating to accessibility are covering
roads , bridges , terminals, stations , and airports . This infrastructure serves to
connect a right to another place . The existence of transport infrastructure will
affect the rate of the transportation level itself. Infrastructure conditions that will
either make optimal transport rate.
3) Amenities ( amenities) Tourism facilities will not separate the hospitality
accommodation . As tourism will never flourish without lodging . Tourist facilities
are matters of supporting the creation of leisure tourists to be able to visit a
tourist destination. As for the means of importance associated with the
development of tourism are as follows hotel accommodation, restaurant, clean
water, communication, entertainment, and security.

Accessbility

Accessbility is a important element of tourism especially natural tourism.

Many people think thats natural tourism place is hard to reach. There are 2
access route to get into TAHURA.
1. From Jl.Ir hj juanda
2. From a village near TAHURA
TAHURA located near downtown.There are many public transportation can be
used by tourist to reach TAHURA. In order to enter to main location of
TAHURA,the management of TAHURA

provide parking lot. That is easy for

tourist to reach TAHURA.Tourist can be entered through 3 gates.

1. first gate is a main Gate
2. second is a gate for bikers
3. the other one is an alternative gate.
