Introduction

Procedure for the connection of Ekip Connect build 19 or previous, for BT030 or BT030 USB, with computers using
Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows 7 operating systems.
Instruction for check of Bluetooth driver version.

Configuration Instruction
If the PC has a Bluetooth integrated Bluetooth peripheral, control that is turned on. With external device
(Bluetooth USB dongle), connect the unit to PC. Windows must identify and install automatically the external
device driver.

Connect the unit BT030 to frontal of protection unit.

For details of connection, use the BT030 and BR030 USB Getting Started.

Select on Pc:
Start Control Panel (if is present the option, select: Hardware and Suonds) Printers and devices
Add a device.

Select the ABB Sace device and confirm with Next. It will appear the following window.

Confirm the second choice Enter the devices pairing code.

Insert the code 0, and confirm with Next.

Check BT Driver
Look for the Bluetooth driver version. Select: Start Control Panel and type Bluetooth on the top right search
field.

Select "Change Bluetooth settings", then the Hardware tab and on the right dialog, the Driver tab. Take note
of the curren Driver Version installed (i.e. for the ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate = Driver Version
= 6.1.7600.16385)

Click on the Update Driver push button and select the automatic search. The system will check for the new
Bluetooth driver version and if it is the case it will install it

Repeat the previous steps (9 and 10) to update the Microsoft Bluetooth enumerator. Restart the PC after the
drivers have been installed.

5.

Start to communicate

After the installation, is possible to start the communication with device.

On PC appear 2 virtual COM port (look the section Device management), one in output configuration
(communication started by PC), and one in input configuration (communication started by BT030). Ekip Connect
uses only the output configuration port, because the BT030 unit is a slave.
Its possible to start communication with Ekip Connect; communication can start choosing command Bus Scan
(not Bluetooth Scan

), and using the COM port related to Bluetooth device.

At this point its possible to start working.
