Guide for filling DS-160 Form
Summurry:
DS160 form is a fully integrated online application form and its data will be submitted electronically (via the Internet) to the
Department of State. DS-160 form will collect the necessary information from persons seeking a nonimmigrant visa to the U.S.
Based on the information provided in the DS-160 form and that combined with the personal interview, the consular officers will
determine an applicant's eligibility for a nonimmigrant visa.
Consular officers may pre-screen the data submitted by the applicants, even before the actual personal interview. The Form DS160 is completely electronic. The DS-160 form is filled out and submitted online, and all data from the submitted form is stored
directly in the DOS (Department of State) database. Overall Timeframe to complete the online application should not take more
than 40 to 50 minutes. If there is no activity for 20 minutes or more in the process of completing this online application, your
session will expire and all entered data will be lost.
Time Out: The DS-160 application will "time out" if the application has been idle for approximately 20 minutes. In case of a
"time out", all the data that has been entered will be lost. Hence you should save your application at regular intervals.
Saving Application: If you need to stop the application before it has been completed for any reason, click the Save button
at the bottom of the last page you have completed and follow the instructions to save the application.
Mandatory fields: Most of fields on the DS-160 are mandatory. You may leave fields marked Optional". Some fields may also
give you the option to select Does Not Apply ". If that field does not apply to you, you may mark the box next to Does Not
Apply All other fields must be completed: the application will not allow you to submit a form with any mandatory fields left
blank. In this instance, an error message will be displayed and you will be required to complete the field before continuing with
the application.
What are information need to fill the DS-160 (CEAC ) online application

Number/Cell Phone Number/Email Address.
Passport information. Passport Number/date of issue/Expiration date, Place of issued.
Travel InformationPurpose of trip, Address Where You Will Stay in the U.S, Intended Date of Arriva /duration of stay in US/
Previous U.S. Travel Information.This is applicable only if you have traveled US eriliaer.
U.S. Point of Contact Information..Who knows you and can verify. If necessary your identity.
US Contact person name and
phone number, e-mail id, office or home address.
Family Information Father's
Present Work / Education / Training Information..Current work address, Monthly Salary in Local Currency, office
and Mothers Full name and Date of Birth/Spouse's Full name and Date of Birth
