summer camp meeting of deaf Christians UK
Harry Potter Fans enjoyed a day at Warner Bros Studio to see how the films were
made! The event was organbised by Peterborough Deaf Club.
Job Vacancy
Action Deafness and the Cambridgeshire Deaf
Association (CDA) are working together in an exciting
new partnership to deliver personal care in the
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough area to people
who use sign language and have additional needs.
Action Deafness are a CQC registered provider and
deliver first class personal care among many other
quality services. Cambridgeshire Deaf Association are
the long-established provider of deaf services at
the heart of the local Deaf Community.
Working together, we are aiming to deliver
Action Deafness high quality care to deaf
people who use sign language in our area. Care
provided in sign language is essential for deaf
peoples health and well-being.
We have vacancies for Personal Care Assistants
CDA Community Over 50s Club visited

the Churchill War Rooms in London.
for start immediately working in the Huntingdon and

Peterborough areas.
Were looking for caring, understanding and
professional people that can use sign language well
and have attained either BSL level 2 or are working
towards it.
If you want a rewarding personal care role in the Deaf
community that puts your skills to use, please send

to everyone who campaigns.
Dear All,
It was lovely to see so many of
you at the AGM. One of the main
things I said was a big thank you
to everyone who has played a part
this year. I would like to repeat
what I said here.
Our staff have worked very hard
this year developing our services.
We now have more places to go,
more courses, more places to get
help all over our patch. I would
like to take this opportunity to say
a big thank you to everyone who
helps deliver this service.
Our staff have worked very hard
growing our advocacy service.
We have delivered the Freedom
course as well as helping people
in trouble or people who have a
problem explaining their choices.
I would like to say a big thank you
to our advocacy team.
Our staff have been working hard

delivering Deaf awareness courses
and teaching people BSL at all
sorts of levels. I would like to say
a big thank you to everyone who
teaches.
Our staff have been working
hard supporting people in the
community enabling them to live
full lives we are in partnership
with Action Deafness to enable us
to support our most vulnerable
Community members to live the
way they want to. Our volunteers
befriend and support other
members of our community to
bring light into their lives. I would
like to give a big thank you to
everyone who cares and supports.
Our staff and volunteers run
this organisation doing all the
administration for the building
and for staff, preparing the bids
and the reports, managing the
finances, making sure we do
everything a high standard. We
are working hard to achieve the

PQASSO standard for charities
and we are getting closer to this.
I would like to say a big thank
you to everyone from my fellow
trustees to everyone who helps us
work to this high standard.

been creating social opportunities
and I would like to say a big thank
you to everyone who has been
helping with fun times.
I would like to say a big thank
you to everyone who has been
volunteering to help with Deaf
church activities in partnership
with CDA it is lovely that the
church community can meet here
in the lovely refurbished Hope
Hall just as it was built for all
those years before.
Finally I would like to say big
thank you to Andy Palmer who
has been working very hard to
lead CDA into the future as a
strong organisation who can make
a difference locally and nationally.
I know we will continue to grow
stronger this year too.

Voice Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
This means our team will be providing advocacy to deaf
people for the next 5 years! Contact us to make a referral if you think you

Our Managing Advocate Ruth Godden has won a

prestigious award. She won Health Worker of the Year
at the Cambridge News Awards in recognition of her
advocavy work with deaf people with complex
health needs.
