Maintain appropriate language and tone of voice at all times.

Remain on task during all classroom activities. This includes lecture, discussion, debate,
reading/writing activities, group work, and more.

2. Come prepared! Bring all necessary materials.

This includes:
A) Pencil/Pen
B) Planner
C) Notebook

D) Textbook (When Required Students will be

given one day notice)
E) Any other assignments or materials requested
by the teacher

3.

Follow directions.

4.

Be on time - Be in your seat and ready to learn when class begins. You are late if you are not in your
seat.

5.

Ask questions if you have them! Ask for help!

6.

Turn in all homework on time!

7.

Know and follow your handbook - the handbook rules apply inside the classroom.

8.

Do Not Cheat, Do Not Plagiarize - You will receive an automatic 0 and a referral to the office.

9.

Be respectful, responsible, and safe.

Homework Policy
1. You are expected to turn all homework in on time. This means it is complete BEFORE class.
2. Late work Late work will be accepted for PARTIAL credit (50% maximum). Only one late assignment
will be accepted per quarter.
3. You may turn in ONE assignment late per quarter, with no late penalty. If all assignments for the
quarter have been turned in, and you have not used your one "freebie" you will have the option to redo
an assignment for full credit, to improve upon your grade. This is not an option for anyone who has not
completed all assignments for the course.
4. I understand that there are rare circumstances in which school work will not be able to be completed on
time. You are responsible for bringing these to my attention.
5. STAY ON TOP OF YOUR HOMEWORK!

Absent Work
1. It is your responsibility to ask if you missed any assignments while you were gone as soon as you
return.
2. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO PICK UP ALL ABSENT WORK FROM THE ABSENT WORK
FOLDER.
3. If work was due the day you were absent, you are responsible for turning it in the day you return.
4. Any work assigned while you were absent is due two school days after you return, unless other
arrangements were made.
5. Any absent work not returned as outlined will decrease in grade just as if it were late work.
Consequences for Negative Behavior
1) Verbal warning discussion of how to change the negative behavior.
2) Parent call or email/note home (when possible for minor issues this step will be skipped for any major
disruptions, disrespectful and/or unsafe behavior)
3) Write up- resulting in notification of the principal/assistant principal.
4) Steps may be skipped or revised based on the severity of the behavior.
*While every effort will be made to keep parents updated about any negative behaviors, there will be
circumstances where referrals will be written without prior parent contact. As always, steps may be
skipped/revised per teacher discretion. More importantly, any issues can be avoided if students show the
teacher and their classmates respect, while staying on task.
Expectations of the Teacher
1) I will be in class on time and with lesson plans ready to go.
2) I will be positive, energetic, and encouraging.
3) I will do my best to provide you with the academic and moral support you need.
4) I will return assignments in a timely manner.
5) I will maintain open communication with students and parents.
6) I will support you in both your academic and extra-curricular endeavors.
7) Please feel free to contact me at any time. My e-mail address and phone number are at the top of the
page. An e-mail is best since I am often in class, in meetings, or at extra-curricular activities.

Final Note: I am typically at school at least one hour prior to the start of the school day. If a student needs help,
please contact me and I would be happy to meet with him/her before school for extra help. I would rather
provide the necessary help than watch a student struggle.
