1. Apply a nondestructive mask to the current selection to


the layer named Bird
Select the Bird layer and then select the box with the circle
(mask tool) at the bottom of the layers palette.

2. Erase only the sign, revealing the white background


layer behind it.

Use the polygon lasso tool to select the square area. Use
the eraser tool to erase the area of the sign.

3. Create a solid fill layer using the current foreground


color. Accept all other default settings.

Click on the black/white circle at the bottom of the layers


palette and select Solid Color from the pop-up menu. Click
OK. Picture should turn yellow.

4. Using the existing font settings, add the text Duck as a


vertical type layer to the image.
Click and hold the text tool, select the vertical text with the
down arrow. Click on the image and type the word Duck (as
shown in the question).

5. Using the retouching tool, remove the red-eye from the


photograph.
Click on the tool bar tool that resembles a bandaid. Click
and hold and select the Red Eye Tool from the list. Click on
the eye of the image.

6. Automatically correct the image color balance.

Go to the image menu at the top and select Auto Color.

7. Increase the saturation of only the Cyan color in the


image to +50.
Top menu, Image to Adjustments, choose Hue/Saturation
and select Cyans from the list above Hue. Move the
Saturation to the right to +50.

8. Destructively change the image Background layer


saturation to -70.
Go to the Image menu from the top menus then to
Hue/Saturation. Change the saturation level to -70.

9. Without changing the resolution, resize the image to


600 pixels wide by 428 pixels high, using the best
resampling interpolation for the change in size.

Go to the top menu to Image to Image Size. Uncheck the


Constrain Proportions box. Change the sizes at the top to
match the requirements listed in the question. At the
bottom of the Image size window, choose Bicubic Smoother
(best for Enlargement) and Click OK.

10. Expand only the right side of the canvas to 50 pixels.


Accept all other default settings.
Go to the top menu and choose Image to Canvas Size.
Change the size to Pixels. Add 50 to the width making it
585.5 and click on the middle left side arrow. Click OK.

11. Without using rulers, place the vertical guide at 300


pixels.
Go to the top menu, choose View menu and select New
Guide. Set the vertical guide to 300. Click OK.

12. Using the selection tool, add the eye of the falcon to
the active selection.
Use the lasso tool. Hold the Shift key and click and drag the
lasso around the selection of the eye. When you release the
lasso tool, the eye should not have any of the selection
(marching ants) around it.

13. Select the sky using the tool that enables you to
select a consistently colored area with a single click.
Use the magic wand tool from the tool bar. You may have to
click and hold the quick select tool until you locate the
magic wand. Click on the sky to select it.

Load the saved selection named Sky.

Go to the top menu, go to the Select menu, and choose


Load Selection from the list. Choose Sky from the choices
available.

15. Add a new horizontal text layer to the graphic that


contains the text CLIMB. Accept all default settings.

Use the text tool and type out the word CLIMB in all caps.

16. Create a new style named HANG form the layer


named HANGING.
Click on the HANGING layer in the layers palette. Next,
locate the Styles tab just above the layers palette. Click on
the tiny menu next to the word Styles, and select New Style
from the list. Type in the name HANG (in all caps) and click
OK.

Display the image in Print Size view.

On the top menu, click on the View menu and locate Print
Size and select it.

18. Convert the image to a Smart Object, and then apply


the Surface Blur Smart Filter. Accept all other default
settings.

Go to the Filter Menu at the top, and select Convert to


Smart Filters. Then go back under the Filter Menu and go to
Blur to Smart Blur.

19. Using the Properties panel, adjust the Feather of the


mask on the layer Vignette to 45px.
Select the Vignette layer from the layers palette. Then go to
the top menu, locate Feather: and type in 45.

20. Add a new horizontal text layer to the graphic that


contains the text Pug. Accept all default settings.
Click on the Text tool, click on the image, and type the word
Pug exactly as shown.

21. Create a new style named LOVE from the layer


named LOVE ME.
Click on the LOVE ME layer in the layers palette. Next,
locate the Styles tab just above the layers palette. Click on
the tiny menu next to the word Styles, and select New Style
from the list. Type in the name LOVE (in all caps) and click
OK.

22. In the Background layer, sharpen the edges of the


image, setting the amount to 100%, the radius to 1
pixel, and the threshold to 1.
Go to the Filter menu at the top, select Sharpen and the
Unsharp Mask. Enter the settings as required by the
question and click OK.

23. Automatically adjust the image white and black point


levels.
Go to the image menu at the top, click on Adjustments,
then Levels. Click on the auto button when the window
appears. Click OK.

24. Increase the Background layer image contrast to


+45.

Go to the Image menu at the top, select Adjustments, then


Brightness/Contrast. Move the contrast slider to +45.

25. Change the selection to the inverse of the current


selection.
Go to the Select menu at the top, click on Inverse.

26. Copy only the picture frame from the open file
named picture 1, and then paste it in the open file
named wall 1.

Use the rectangle marquee tool and select the picture in


the given image. Then go to the top Edit menu and select
Copy. Go to the File menu and select open, and scroll down
the list until you locate wall 1 and open it. The go to the
Edit menu again and click paste. Keyboard shortcuts will
not work.

27. Without using Grayscale mode, change the


photograph so it is black and white. Accept all other
default settings.
Go to the Image menu at the top, select Adjustments and then
Black & White. Click OK.

28. Create a layer group named Flowers that contains


the images named Flower 1, Flower 2, and Flower 3.

Select the first Flower 1 layer. Hold the shift key and click
on the Flower 2 layer and then the Flower 3 layer. All three
of the Flower layers should be selected. Go to the mini
menu next to the Layers tab and select New Group from

Layers. Name the group Flowers, exactly as shown in the


question.

Covert the layer named Layer 1 to a Smart Object.

From the layers palette, click on the Layer 1 layer to select


it. Then go to the Layer menu at the top, go down to Smart
Objects and select Convert to Smart Object. (Note: this is
one of several ways to convert the layer to a smart object)

30. Apply the Inner Glow effect to the layer named Text
Outline. Accept all other default settings.

Select the layer Text Outline in the layers palette. Go to the


fx menu at the bottom of the layers palette and select Inner
Glow. Click OK.

31. Apply the Sunspots (texture) style to the layer


named Text Outline.
Select the layer from the layers palette named Text Outline.
Go up to the Styles Menu tab above the layers palette and
select the yellow box.

32. Apply a vertical gradient to the selection that is


black at the bottom and transparent at the top.
Select the gradient tool from the tool bar. Go to the top
menu where you see the gradient properties. The gradient
should be black to transparent in the image. Click and drag
from the bottom of the image to the top of the image.

the images named Mountain 1, Mountain 2, and
Mountain 3.
Select the first Mountain 1 layer. Hold the shift key and click
on the Mountain 2 layer and then the Mountain 3 layer. All
three of the Mountain layers should be selected. Go to the
mini menu next to the Layers tab and select New Group
from Layers. Name the group Mountains, exactly as shown
in the question. (similar to the flowers question)

down until you see the Scale to Fit Media, check it and then
click the Print Button.
