¥ Sc. Pacrick's Mencal Nospical $ Paychiattic Ward County Sligo, Republic of Irland. Tel: 903-7636366 18.10.2016 Dear Mr Howey, Thave been asked to send you a photocopy of the narrative composed by my patient, Mr Dan Coburn, while admitted here. His reasons for asking me to send you a copy are not clear to me, but since my patient and you have known each other outside this hospital, I feel I can indulge his wishes. My patient's writing has only psychological value so far as the subject-matter and method of execution are concerned. However, I have no desire to attribute undue importance to this, as Mr Coburn is very sick and is suffering from acute delusions. So much is self-evident to any person reading the subject matter contained in Mr Coburn's narrative piece. Indeed, most of such patients escape from this unnatural position by relieving their feelings in writing, and then the productions of their pen have an unusual value that serves as an indication of their character, health, and mental state. From what he has told me, you are writing a history book (which may involve my patient), but I would appreciate it if you do not mention my involvement anywhere in your book. With these explanations I leave the matter to your best judgment. Thank you very much. Yours sincerely, vod Male Dr. Ahmad Malawe, M.D.
