Statement of Purpose

My name is Nischay Mehta. I am born & brought up in a nuclear family. My Mother is a Primary
School Teacher and my Brother is currently working as a Co-ordinator in TCY-Betterthink
centre.
In regards to my academic journey, So far, I am a graduate degree holder in BCA (Bachelor of
Computer Application) with aggregate of 69.5% from Panjab University (2011-2014). My
schooling was under the CBSE Board. I cleared my senior secondary in the Commerce stream
(2011) with 71.2% scoring and my matriculation (2009) with 65%.
As I was opportunistic and eager to experience the corporate world, I decided to take up position
of Network Support Forum Executive and Academic Executive in TCY online on 5 th May, 2014.
This decision paid me off well as I got a chance to enhance my academic knowledge and utilize
it in practical world. This job gave me the much needed boost in the qualities like team handling,
team work, networking & planning. While working with this organisation I realized the
importance of discipline & hard work in life. Till now my biggest achievement in this
organization has been receiving Star of the Month award for January, 2015 and Letter of
Appreciation from the CEO (Mr. Kamal Wadhera) on the Companys Annual Day function,
2015. Undoubtedly, working with TCY has provided me with ample of opportunities to learn
and grow, however, In the meanwhile I noticed that masters is equally important if I want to
make a career based on my area of expertise.
Being a graduate of BCA stream I want my career in Information technology and for that I would
like to pursue my Masters degree in the stream of Information Technology. Since the age of
adolescence I have had a keen inclination towards technology. I was always paranoid about how
technology has winded itself around our lives. Computer systems being an integral part of
technology have always allured me, amused me and this never seems to fall back in amazing me
when it comes to its functioning. This strong liking has prompted me to opt for Bachelors and
then take up Job in the same field. Now that its high time for me to focus on my academic
excellence then what is better than Masters in IT. These upcoming two years of masters degree
will not only aid my future hereafter but also allow me to grow as an individual and keep me upto-date with the changes in the Computer Science. Another reason for taking up this degree
program is the surfeit opportunities available to IT students as this industry is in boom and its
growth has been unfathomable. Masters course will equip me with the required mindset,
knowledge and skills which will ultimately add value to my endeavors for career in IT services.
Let alone the solid foundation that is built in the area of computer science and/or software
engineering at the theoretical and practical levels.
Since Masters Degree holds utmost importance for my future prospects. I am looking for nothing
but the best available opportunity to ensure that I do this course from one of the leading

institutes. Australia, being the World leader in proving the high quality education to the students
across the nations, is my first choice for pursuing my academic dreams. Moreover, Australia as a
Nation houses Nobel Prize laureates and innovations which have proven to be beneficial to
people around the globe. Another reason for choosing this nation is its strong economy and stable
democratic government. With the highest standards of living in the world, Australia is definitely
the most suitable place to be in. As a student, this place can offer me a cohesive and secure
environment and exceptionally high standard of healthcare.
I would like to pursue my masters in QUT as it is among Australias best universities and
provides excellent facilities for international students. This university blends in the outstanding
faculties from round the globe & research facilities to assist the students and excellent academic
curriculums which encourage learning by practice and implementation in real life situations.
What more a student wants from the educational institute than a welcoming ambience and blend
of multicultural ethnicities. I would not say that India does not provide enough for this Masters
course but the universities somehow do lack in the much required exposure which is
quintessence in career advancement.
I believe that my positive ambitious attitude, confidence and good strength of character is apt to
back my ability to be abroad for studying. I am fully supported in my application by my family
who is there to motivate me in my effort to reach my goals. I will be sponsored for my studies by
my parents, especially my mother and brother who are having a regular source of Income.
Besides them, my maternal grandfather, a retired Branch Manager in BATA, is also willing to
give full support for my education.
Upon the successful completion of my studies, I would take the opportunity to apply for work
permit (2 years) so that I can look for better job options in Australia and get the International
work experience and exposure which will enhance my value and chances of getting placed with
the IT giants of my nation like Wipro, Infosys.
Looking at the brighter side of my future endeavors, I would be grateful to be a part of QUT,
Australia.
