PROJECTS
Image Processing (Instructor: Prof. Sokratis Makrogiannis)
Automatization of Adipose Compartment Segmentation in Mastectomy CT Images
An automatic segmentation based on mean shift clustering for the identification and estimation
of adipose compartment volumes in CT slices of a mastectomy specimen.
Pattern Recognition (Instructor: Prof. Gary Holness)
High Dimensional Facial Data Representation and Clustering
An experiment for the trade-off between clustering and big data representation. Using the
Stanford facial data, affinity propagation and manifold learning were performed. For the variation
in the dimensionality reduced data representation, the impact of clustering was observed.
Advanced Operating Systems (Instructor: Prof. Xiali Hei)
Defense against Replay Attacks through the Authentication of Face Recognition
A facial verification technique was incorporated with the face recognition using PCA. The
unauthorized access in any system where facial recognition is used, could be prevented with the
facial authentication.
Machine Learning (Instructor: Prof. Gary Holness)
Buzz Prediction in Online Social Media using SVM with Different Optimization Techniques
The dual problem was formulated and solved for non-linear constraints optimization with
objective function. Quadratic programming (QP), Sequential Minimal Optimization (SMO), and
Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP) were used as the optimization methods in Support
Vector Machine (SVM).
Computational Intelligence and Informatics (Instructor: Prof. Tomasz Smolinski)
Classification of MRI Brain Images using Feature Extraction and ANFIS Network
A system was for automated classification of brain MRI based on feature extraction and the
hybridization of an artificial neural network (ANN) and a fuzzy inference system (FIS).
