Minutes of the Commissioners Meeting

September 21, 2016
The regular scheduled meeting of the Williamson County Emergency Services District #8 was held on
Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 6:00p.m. at 3500 D B Wood Road. The President, Bobby Bunte, being in
the chair, and a quorum present, the meeting was called to order at 6:00p.m.

Consideration and possible action to approve the minutes from the Regular Session meeting
held on August 17, 2016.

2.

Consideration and possible action to approve the minutes from the Special Call Tax Meeting
held on August 31, 2016.

3.

Commissioner Piper made a motion to approve the minutes the minutes from the Special Call
Tax Meeting held on September 7, 2016 as amended. Commissioner Wood seconds. Motion
carried.

Consideration and possible action to approve the minutes from the Special Call Tax Meeting
held on September 14, 2016.

Commissioner Dalton made a motion to approve the minutes from the Special Call Tax Meeting
held on August 31, 2016 as amended. Commissioner Wood seconds. Motion carried.

Consideration and possible action to approve the minutes from the Special Call Tax Meeting
held on September 7, 2016.

4.

Commissioner Piper made a motion to approve the Regular Session meeting minutes held on
August 17 as amended. Commissioner Wood seconds. Motion carried.

Commissioner Dalton made a motion to approve the minutes from the Special Call Tax Meeting
held on September 14, 2016 as amended. Commissioner Piper seconds. Motion carried.

Presentation of the monthly Treasurers Report and payment of bills by Ron Barrick.

Money Market balance: $3,548,602.46

Checking: $400,566.20
Total Money Market and Checking balance: $3,949,168.66
Commissioner Piper made a motion to accept the Treasurers report for August as read.
Commissioner Dalton seconds. Motion carried.

Commissioner Rodriguez made a motion to accept the Treasurers report as presented.

Commissioner Piper seconds. Motion carries.
Commissioner Rodriguez made a motion to amend the ESD8 Budget per Ron Barricks
numbers. Commissioner Piper seconds. Motion carries.

Monthly presentation and report(s) by City of Georgetown Fire Chief John Sullivan.

7.

Chief Sullivan gave the Board a brief overview of the percentage of ESD8 and EMS related
responses in August as well as other City-wide events and developments occurring in August.

Discussion and possible action on reconstitution of ESD8 Board.

Commissioner Bunte made a motion to reconstitute the Board with Bobby Bunte as President,

Bennie Piper as Vice President, Troy Rodriguez as Secretary, Ira Wood as Treasurer and Troy
Dalton as Assistant Treasurer. Commissioner Rodriguez seconds. Motion carries.
8.

Discussion and possible action to adopt Exhibit C of the annual contract for services with the
City of Georgetown.

9.

Discussion and possible action regarding the annexation of the Whitetail Subdivisions, Garey
Park, and surrounding properties into ESD8.

10.

General discussion. Carry over.

Discussion and possible action related to the construction of Fire State #6.

11.

Commissioner Piper made a motion to accept the Interlocal Exhibit C for the annual contract for
services with the City of Georgetown for FY16/17 as presented. Commissioner Rodriguez
seconds. Motion carries.

Discussion and possible action on communication outreach options for ESD8.

General discussion. Carry over.

Public Comment.

None.

Next regular session meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 19, 2016, 6:00 p.m. at the Public Safety
Operations and Training Center. No further business was discussed or actions taken. Commissioner Piper
made a motion for adjournment. Commissioner Dalton seconds. Meeting was adjourned at 8:33p.m.
