on both sides of the easel and children can paint them and then dab the areas with water to see the paint and water react together. There will still be plenty of room for them to just paint whatever they would like though. They can also paint on foil and relate the heat resistant part of foil to the heat resistant clothes the fire fighters wear. Child Objective: The children will be able to paint using their hand-eye coordination to pick up the paint brushes and sponges and take them to paint the flames or fire and then add water. During this activity the children will explore creative arts by painting the flames but also expanding what they paint if they would like. (D1: G14, CI:7) Intentional Teaching: Teachers will use parallel talk with the children about the different colors and materials that they are using to see the reactions between the paint and the water and then self talk to say where they have seen fires before and try to get the children to tell them stories about where fires can happen and then who can help us. They can also relate the water that they are using on the flames to how fire fighters use water on the flames to put the fire out, as well as the foil to the heat resistant clothing that the fire fighters wear. Activity Description: There will be a soft new kind of play dough for the children to manipulate that is made from corn starch and conditioner as well as play dough toys to help them create. Child Objective: The children will be able to have a better understanding of what it feels like to hold something soft and different from the normal play dough they are used to playing with while working on their fine motor skills to manipulate the objects with ease. (D2:G18, CI:6) Intentional Teaching: Teachers will encourage the children to work together with their peers by helping identify colors and temperature of the soft play dough and create shapes or objects with it and the tools.
Activity Description: Children will graph colors of
fire trucks and match the shape of the Fire Fighters hats to their uniforms. Child Objective: The children will be able to pick up the different fire truck pieces and use their cognitive skills to match the color with the
