Operation
ACFT Requirements for TMA RNAV PROC
In order to enable their pilots to accept the TMA RNAV procedures, operators must hold an RNAV1 or
P-RNAV operations approval issued by their state of registry which is compliant with the JAA Temporary
Guidance Leaflet No. 10 (TGL-10) or equivalent.
ACFT that are not equipped or approved for TMA RNAV procedures are only allowed INBD Schiphol by
exemption. Pilots of these ACFT shall inform ATC by use of the phrase "UNABLE RNAV" if instructed to
fly an RNAV procedure. These ACFT will be guided by RAD vectors or will be rerouted via conventional
navigation aids.
Low Visibility Procedures
LVP OPS are categorized in 4 phases: A, B, C, D.
Phase A is reduced LVP; B, C, D are low LVP.
TDZ RVR <= 1500m and /or
cloud base <= 300ft

For code letter Eand F ACFT the use of differential braking and asymmetric PWRto make a 180-turn
within the turn-around area may be necessary.

Pilots will receive INFOconcerning stand (entry, pier and number). Follow main taxi lines and adhere to
route-indications for APNand stand. Crossing of red boundary line only after VIS contact with marshaller

Warning
Due environmental influences windreport for RWY36Ris not representative for windconditions at TDZ;
windspeed from sector 080-120 is underestimated up to 15%.
Do not mistake highway W of RWY 18C/36C for RWY 18C/36C.
Compass deviation may occur when parked at stands of E-pier, in area between E-pier and F-pier, or
when following TWYs in vicinity of E-pier.
Birds in vicinity of AD. Bird scare patrols active H24, various equipment in use: flare shellcrackers,
alternating bird dispersal guns and amplified cries of distress.
A bird deterring green laser system may be in operation H24 abeam RWY18L/36R. Use caution due to
surface reflections, especially during twilight and/or cloudy weather COND.

APU
The use of APU and GPU is strictly controlled at stands:
B13/15/17/23/27/31/35, B16/20/24/28/32/36/, D2/4/10/12, D3/5/7/41/43/47/49/51/53/55/57, all F,
G and H stands. Where AVBL, 400Hz power unit must be used. For cooling and heating purposes,
pre-conditioned air units (PCA) shall be used. APUrestricted to MAX5min after on-block and MAX10min
before off-block. On all other stands ACFT are requested not to use APU.
Exceptions:
- When it is necessary to use an APUto diagnose and/or rectify ACFT faults. Prior permission must be
obtained from Airside Operations Office, phone: +31 (0)20 601 2115.
- When 400Hz power units and/or PCA units are not operative or not AVBL. Prior permission must be
obtained from Airside Operations Office, phone: +31 (0)20 601 2115.
- When outside temperature is below -5C or above +25C (according METAR).

GENERAL
Caution for jet blast
Using following RWY combinations a jetblast hazard exists:
- LDGRWY 09 and DEP RWY 18L from INT TWY E5.
- LDGRWY 27 and DEP RWY 18L from INT TWY E5.
- LDGRWY 36Rand DEP RWY 24.
- DEP RWY 18L and DEP RWY 24.
- DEP RWY 18L from INT TWY E5 and DEP or LDGRWY 27.
- DEP RWY 18L from INT TWY E5 and DEP or LDGRWY 27.
- DEP RWY 24 and LDGRWY 36R.
ARRIVAL

Communication
On initial contact:
- with APCH/ARR report call-sign only.
- with TWR report call-sign and RWY.
Contact GND (without ATC instructions) immediately after vacating RWY.
COM Failure
Inbound clearance not received: Proceed according current flight plan to appropriate HLDG fix
(SUGOL, RIVER, ARTIP). Maintain last cleared and acknowledged FL. Intercept HLDG pattern, start
descend to FL70 at or as near as possible to ETO. After reaching FL70 leave HLDGfix and carry out APCH
to received and acknowledged RWY, or to main LDGRWY according ATIS.
TFC via STAR: Proceed according current flight plan to appropriate HLDGfix (SUGOL, RIVER, ARTIP) at
last cleared and acknowledged FL. Intercept HLDGpattern. Start descend to FL70 at EAT last received
and acknowledged or when no EAT received as near as possible to ETOat HLDGfix. After reaching FL70
leave HLDGfix and carry out APCH to assigned or main LDGRWY according ATIS.
TFC via EELDE B, NORKU B and REKKEN B: Proceed to NARSOat last cleared and acknowledged FL.
Intercept HLDGpattern, start descend to FL70 at EFCT (Expected Further Clearance Time) last received
and acknowledged or when no EFCT received as near as possible to ETO NARSO. After reaching FL70
leave NARSO and intercept R070 SPL inbound to ARTIP and carry out APCH to assigned RWY, or main
LDG RWY according ATIS.
TFC outside STAR: Proceed to SPL VOR along route specified in inbound clearance. Maintain last
cleared and acknowledged FL. Over SPL VORintercept HLDGpattern to received and acknowledged RWY
or main LDG RWY according ATIS. Descend to FL70 (if necessary), leave HLDG at FL70 and carry out
APCH to assigned RWY.
TFCon transition, without APCHCLR: Proceed to NARIX(ARTIP2CTR) or NIRSI (ARTIP, RIVER, SUGOL
3B TR) or SOKSI (ARTIP, RIVER, SUGOL 2A TR) to SPL VOR, maintain last cleared and acknowledged FL.
Intercept HLDGto received and acknowledged RWY. In HLDGdescend to FL70, after reaching FL70 carry
out APCH to RWY concerned.

Lido 2015

Speed
Cross IAF ( ARTIP, RIVER, SUGOL) at or below FL100 unless otherwise instructed.
Below FL100 MAX 250KT unless otherwise instructed.
Cross D15 SPL at 220KT.
After HLDG maintain 220KT UFN.
ATC will initiate speed reductions below 220KT.
When established on ILS: Maintain 160KT until 4NM before THR.
Speeds above 220KT accurate within 10KT; speed below 220KT accurate within 5KT.
Speed limit points D30 SPL and D15 SPL are not applicable during RNAVnight PROCto RWY06 or 18R.

ARRIVAL
TFC vectored on ARR RTE: Proceed in most direct manner to the route specified in inbound clearance
and carry out procedure described above.
TFC vectored to final: Proceed to final APCH beacon or intermediate fix (IF) of main LDGRWYat last
received and acknowledged LVL. Descend (if necessary) to 2000ft AMSL after arriving over beacon or
fix (IF) in an outbound turn and intercept final APCH.
MISAP
RWY 06 ILS CAT I/II/III; NDB: On 058 to 2000ft AMSL, RT to CH to cross CH at 3000ft AMSL. After
CH descend to 2000ft AMSL in the outbound turn and start another APCH.
RWY 09 VOR/DME: On 085 (R-265 PAM) to 2000ft AMSL, LTto SPL to cross SPL at 3000ft AMSL and
start another APCH.
RWY 18C ILS CAT I/II/III; DME, NDB, SRE: On 183 to 1500ft AMSL, RT to OA to cross OA at 3000ft
AMSL. After OA descend to 2000ft AMSL in the outbound turn and start another APCH.
RWY 18RILSCAT I/II/III, VOR/DME: RTASAPontoR-280 SPLand donot overshoot R-240 SPL. At D7.5
SPL RT to cross SPL at 3000ft and start another APCH
RWY 18R SRE: At MAPt RT to intercept R-280 SPL and do not overshoot R-240 SPL. Climb to 3000ft
AMSL. At 2000ft AMSL start a right climbing turn to SPL so as to cross SPL at 3000ft AMSL and hold
or execute start another APCH.
RWY 22 ILS CAT I: LT ASAP to 160 to 2000ft AMSL, LT to SPL to cross SPL at 3000ft AMSL and start
another APCH.
RWY 24: LT to 238 to 2000ft AMSL, RT to SPL to cross SPL at 3000ft AMSL and start another APCH.
RWY 27 ILS CAT I/II/III: On 267 to 2000ft AMSL, RT to WP to cross WP at 3000ft AMSL. After WP
descend to 2000ft AMSL in the outbound turn and start another APCH.
RWY 27 VOR/DME: On 265 to 2000ft AMSL, RT to PAM to cross PAM at 3000ft AMSL. After PAM
descend to 2000ft AMSL in the outbound turn and start another APCH.
RWY 36C ILS I/II/III; VOR/DME: To OA, LTto SPL to cross SPL at 3000ft AMSL and start another APCH.
RWY 36R ILS CAT I/II/III; NDB: On 003 to 1500ft AMSL, RT to NVto cross NVat 3000ft AMSL. After
NV descend to 2000ft AMSL in the outbound turn and start another APCH.
RWY 04, 06, 09, 36C SRE: RWY MT and climb to 3000ft AMSL. At 2000ft AMSL start the shortest
climbing turn to SPL so as to cross SPL at 3000ft AMSL and hold or execute the most suitable IAP.
While circling to land: Complete the turn to the intended LDGRWY. Intercept the MT of the intended
LDG RWY and execute the published MISAP in case of COM failure for that RWY.
Arrival Procedure
Initial APCH CLR: After initial APCH CLR (including CLR limit and LVL instructions) the MNM FL for all
TFC inbound Schiphol AD proceeding via STAR is FL070 at TMA BDRY. Flights inbound Schiphol
departing from AD situated in FIRand intending to operate at 3000ft or below should obtain an EATfrom
Schiphol APCH before DEP. Leave HLDGfix at time specified in CLR, if no time specified, ASAP.
Noise Abatement Procedures
For RWY06 and RWY18RRNAVlow-noise PROC, CDA, for jet ACFT will be used between 2130-0530,
otherwise ACFT will be radar vectored towards interception of final at 3000ft AMSL. Executing a CDA
implies that after NIRSI, NARIX or SOKSI a continuously descending flight path without LVL segments
is to be flown in a low PWR and low drag configuration. A flight path is considered continuously
descending when there is no LVL segment. A segment is considered LVL if the ALTloss is less than 50ft
over a distance of 2.5NM.

ARRIVAL
For NAP using a reduced flaps LDGis recommended. However, use of this PROCis subject to captains
decision and safety prevails at all times.
ILS AVBL:
- Intercept ILS using MNM flap settings with LDG gear retracted.
- Select gear down after passing 2000ft.
- Postpone selection of MNM certified LDG flap setting until passing 1200ft.
Non-precision APCH:
- Intercept final leg.
- Follow a descent path using MNM flap settings with LDGgear retracted which will NOTbe lower than
5.2% (3.00).
- Select gear down on descent path after passing 2000ft.
- Postpone selection of MNM certified LDG flap settings until passing 1200ft.
- ACFT executing a visual APCH shall additionally avoid populated areas as much as possible.
MISAP
In case of MISAP: Inform ATC immediately and be prepared to receive amended MISAP instructions.
When no instructions are received, adhere strictly to the published MISAP
MISAP during visual APCH
Turn to the intended LDG RWY, intercept MAG RWY track while:
- when visual continue and inform ATC;
- when unable to remain visual climb to 2000ft AMSL and inform ATC.
MISAP while circling
Inform ATC, turn to the intended LDG RWY and intercept MAG RWY track and execute the MISAP
published on IAC of the intended RWY.
For RWY 04 and RWY24: inform ATC, turn to the intended LDGRWYand intercept MAGRWYtrack and
climb to 2000ft AMSL.
Circling: Circling to RWY 18L and 36L not permitted except EMG.
Reverse
Between 2030-0530: After LDGthe use of idle reversethrust is advised on all RWYs except RWY04/22,
safety permitting.
Minimum Runway Occupancy Time (MROT): Ensure standard MROT procedure.
Warning
RWY 24: After passing D8 PAM expect moderate TURB on final APCH, when average winds exceeds
30KT.
RWY 27: When average surface winds exceeds 30KT, expect moderate TURB on final APCH from APRX
D3-D1 BVB/D8-D10 PAM.
RWY 04/22 do not confuse with parallel TWY.
Do not mistake RWY04 for RWY 06 and RWY 22 for RWY 24.
Caution for jet blast
Pilots are advised to keep PWR setting to a MNM at the following PSN:
- Stands D3, E18, E20 and E22 when docking.

Application of RNAV
The Netherlands highly recommends the use of preprogrammed (RNAV) routes. An RNAV route may
result in a different flight path (vertically: turn altitudes and/or laterally: turn anticipation effects)
compared to the conventional route. By making use of the FMS route functionalities, a significant part
of the noise production is shifted to less sensitive noise areas. Therefore, using RNAV will not result in
route violations.
