Lincolns First Inaugural Address

1. It is interesting to see how much controversy there was when it had come to giving up
slaves from their labor work. People would just not accept giving them up.
2. It is interesting to see who Lincoln was trying to get all the slaves to be free but they
were still stripped from being free even after the Constitution had stated it. It is amazing
to see who corrupt government was at that time.
3. It is interesting to see how government was working back in the day, Lincoln stated if
one party did not agree with one law they the law would not work. This is very intriguing
to see if one does not agree then it will not work.
4. It is interesting to see how it was stated that the Union is older than the constitution. I
find it interesting how it is stated that the constitution was changed like every 2 years. It
was matured. I found that pretty interesting.
5. It is interesting to see how much fighting there was at that time. Lincoln was just trying to
help change.
6. Lincoln will always be remembered as the President that had helped end slavery. This is
something that will never be changed.
7. LIncoln was trying to change the ways of the constitution. This is interesting because he
was one who finally had to the power to make big changes.
8. Government at the time was doing nothing to help change this. This is very interesting to
see how government saw this issue as not a wrong.
9. He wants all the people to see the wrong. Interesting to see how many supporters he
had at that time.
10. Lincoln was doing everything he can to change this.
The Gettysburg Address
1. When America was established it was stated that all men were created equal. It is
interesting because at that time men were considered to be the whites.
2. They entered a civil war between the North and South. It was interesting to see how both
sides had such different ideologies.
3. It was weird to see how the way to resolve this was through a war. Even though
nowadays it is seen that fighting does not solve anything.
4. There were many that were killed in this war. Even after that there was still some tension
between the two sides.
5. Men were honored after their death. Interesting to see how in the end all men were
honored no matter what side.
6. Even though there was a war, the fight was yet from done. Interesting to see how much
despite there was at the time.
7. Interesting to see how both sides were kind of fighting for freedom. Yet they go out on a
full on war.
8. The war was just one step to change. Interesting to see even after all the bloodshed, it
was still only one little step.
9. Interesting to see how it stated that the government is made for the people.
10. Government was very corrupt, there was no way that it was meant for the people and
made by the people.

In both of these documents, there was so much corruption going on at the time. There was all of
this fighting going on to get freedom. But it is ironic to see the address, it indirectly says the all
men were the whites. Blacks were not seen as people. There is a lot of good information in both
documents.
