LAUDIENCE

Gist:
A young lady named Marianne David (May-May) who is mentally incapacitated was lost on a
tour one day. She was looking for her mom and dad until a guy approached her. This guy named
Robin Castro lives in an apartment near the place where May-May and her parents were visiting.
Mr. Castro told May-May that he knew where her parents were during that time. May-May,
wanting to find her parents, immediately agreed to go with Mr. Castro. Little did she know that
Mr. Castro had an ill motive and was planning to bring her to a place where she can get her alone
and take advantage of her. When Mr. Castro brought May-May to a room and started to undress
her, May-May was not able to fight and get away, given her mental incapacity and Mr. Castros
physical strength. Unfortunately, Mr. Castro succeeded on his plan and May-May was raped.
May-Mays family filed a case against Mr. Castro and after court proceedings, he was charged
guilty of the crime.

Shows a video clip as introduction (Mr. Castro invites May-May to go somewhere)
May-May: (seated in front)
Atty. Fajardo: What were you doing before the incident?
May-May: That night that night I was looking for my mom and dad and and I could
not find them. (confused and scared)

Atty. Fajardo: So you were alone during those times?

May-May: Yes, yes. (almost crying)
Atty. Fajardo: Then what?
May-May: And then a bad guy, a bad guy came and he grabbed my hand. He said he knows
where my parents were. He was wearing a hat and a black shirt and blue jeans. I was so scared.
Thats the bad guy(shout, frightened)
Robin Castro: No, thats not true! Shes lying!
Judge Reyes: Order in the court! Let the complainants side continue.
Atty. Fajardo: Where did he bring you?
May-May: I dont know. I dont remember. We were in a room. It was dark, and it was very cold
(crying)
Atty. Fajardo: What did he do after that?
May-May: My dresshe took it off me. It was so painful. (Hysterical) (Cry)
Rita: (crying) My daughter my only daughter.
Atty. Fajardo: No further questions, your Honor.
Judge: Accused side, it is now your turn to present your arguments
Robin Castro: (sits in front)
Atty. Chua: Where were you during the incident?
Robin Castro: I was not in that place. In fact, I was having my vacation in Bicol.
(court scene, Freeze)

Atty. Chua: What is your proof to show that you were really in Bicol during that time?
Robin Castro: I have with me my plane ticket showing the date of my flight. (gets the plane
ticket in the folder and shows it to judge)
Atty. Chua: Your honor, this is a strong evidence that it is impossible for the accused to do the
crime given that he was not in the crime scene during that time.
Rita: Thats not true! He raped my daughter!

Robin Castro: How can you say that if youre not even with your daughter during those times?
Rita: Nooooo!!! You raped my daughter. You deserve to go to jail!
Atty. Fajardo: Your Honor, here is a medical examination showing that he was raped. (gives the
evidence to the Judge)
(people makes noise)
Judge: Order in the court! Let the witness be heard.
Mr. Martin Ocampo: (sits in front) (bothered and bewildered) I I I had dinner with my
friend Robin Castro. After that, we drank beer. I saw that he approached the girl and

Robin Castro: I thought you were my friend! How could you do this to me! (shout)
Mr. Martin Ocampo: Sorry, my friend. My conscience is bothering me.
Judge: With the evidences presented in this court, and the testimony of the witness, you are
found guilty beyond reasonable doubt, Mr. Castro.
