School Executives

2016-2017
Goals
1 To assist in providing an organized and disciplined school climate that will
enhance and support the instructional program.
2 To provide students with the opportunity to attend school - or school related
activities that are well supervised and conducted in an orderly manner.
3 To facilitate the attainment of all school wide academic performance goals.
Objectives
As administrators we will:
1 Provide the required and necessary discipline to enforce and maintain the
Districts education and discipline code.
2 Hold student and parent conferences when a student is referred because of
attendance or unsuitable behavior in the classroom and administer necessary
discipline to cause a behavioral adjustment that will allow the student to be
placed into a suitable learning environment.
3 Communicate information discussed in administrative staff meetings with
certificated and classified staff.
4 Supervise all areas of the campus to insure and maintain proper student
behavior including extracurricular activities outside the regular school day.
5 Collect and review student achievement data and student work with teachers
monthly in all curricular areas.
6 Meet monthly with department heads on site and attend designated district-wide
department meetings.
7 Facilitate meetings of teachers, within our designated departments, to review and
discuss student performance on classroom embedded assessments and other
assessments to guide instructional planning.
8 Monitor content area teaching, i.e. use of course outlines, curriculum, pacing
guides, and standards.
9 Ensure that quality instruction occurs in every classroom every day!

Decreased number of disruptive student in class, on campus, at school-wide


extra-curricular activities, and in the community

As part of our continuous improvement plan and our goal for developing
21st century classrooms that produce "Career and College READY"
students, Common Instructional Practices have been adopted to reach these
goals and increase student achievement. In order to maximize student
learning and engagement, teachers will utilize the following teaching
practices:

Scaffolding/Differentiation

Collaborative Group Work

PBL (Project Based/Problem Based Learning)

Literacy Integration (Reading, Writing, Speaking)

Critical Thinking (Questioning) and Problem Solving (6Cs)

Technology Integration and Use by Students

During the process for implementing, gathering feedback and making


improvements to our pacing, units, and assessment design, teachers and
administrators have distinct roles and responsibilities.
Administrators:
In sum, Administrators will drive, facilitate and support the success of this
curriculum project by engaging in the following:

Share information with staff on the purpose, use, and responsibilities


for working as a PLC to implement units and pacing by designing
lessons that align with the pacing and unit frameworks.
Monitor the work of the PLCs and teachers as the implement plans, and
the assessment results generated by common assessments.
Assist with scheduling assessments, reviewing and analyzing results,
and developing intervention plans or extension activities for students
based on the data.
Use the data to evaluate needs of staff and facilitate discussions based
on the data and needs identified.
Respect the process established.
Ensure teachers have time to meet, discuss, and plan using the
frameworks.
Create a system/process for monitoring PLCs and work products
(collect PLC artifacts and feedback).
Be overtly supportive of the project (be the voice, value the work, and
display our support).
Be involved in PLCs and facilitate discussions when necessary.
Empower team participants (staff & students) to share knowledge and
experience with others.
Set expectations and standards aligned with these guidelines.

Teachers

Keep students best interest in mind, differentiating instruction and


adjusting instructional presentation to help achieve mastery.

Accept draft ideas (keep an open mind) and implement as established.


Be willing to share resources, ideas, thoughts, products, and processes.
Demonstrate commitment to process. (examples: products, PLC
artifacts)
Create lesson plans based on the pacing guide and unit frameworks.
Follow through with plans and assessment data (providing feedback to
students).

Provide specific feedback to the district on the pacing and unit


frameworks.
