have knowledge of any health related issues the

will remain calm while moving the students to a safe
environment, based on the situation. If a student is
injured, the teacher will stop the activity and have
the students seated away from the injured student

Instant Activity:
To start our day off right we will be
playing, steal the rag! Everyone will
be given a rag and must tuck it into
the side of their pant near the hip.
Leave most of it out so its easy to
pull. No guarding your rag with your
hands. If you pull a rag just carry it
in your hands. Try to collect as many
rags as you can. Does everyone
understand? Ready?
Transition
On the teachers cue, students will be
seated on the polly spots placed in

Today we will be working on soccer
dribbling, passing, and stopping. We
will start off with the basic of soccer
and work into gameplay later this
week.
Purpose:
The purpose of todays activity is to
learn different strategies of how to
score during a soccer game and how
to defend a player of the opposing
team, preventing them from scoring.

Start/Stop Signals: Students

will be told to begin when
they receive the ball, and
Freeze will be used as a stop
signal

This activity will address CA

standard IV and NASPE

Lesson Core 1 Running Plays :
This activity will be done in partners.
They will be told to find a pair of
cones and line up across from each
other. The teacher will then hand out
a soccer ball to each person on one
side. One ball for each pair of
students. We will practice passing to
each other back and forth using the
COTS to passing and stopping. After
some time of doing this ask the
Students to freeze, go over the COTS
again and then tell them that they can
take a step back after each successful
pass. If it is offline they must sit back
at the starting cone. Last pair standing
wins, and does not have to do
jumping jacks.
Demonstration Plan:
The teacher will verbally and visually
demonstrate the COTS to passing and
stopping a soccer ball by calling up a
student to help demonstrate both
tasks.

Lesson Core 2- Offense and

Defensive Plays:

Students will now work on

dribbling the soccer ball to a
designated area, turn around
and pass it to a target. Break the
students up into 4 different
groups. Cones will be spread out
in a line for each group to stand
behind. We will be using the
same COTS for passing and
shooting but also introduce
dribbling. The first person in line
will dribble to ball all the way to
the line turn around, keeping the
ball under control and pass it to
the next person in line. Once you
pass the ball get out of the way
and take a set in the back of the
line and wait your turn for the
next round. If we have time we
will then get into a passing race.
Have two groups get in a
staggered line and pass the ball
up the line diagonally and back
down.
