Monotheistic Religions Essay
The Three Monotheistic Religions
The following text will be informing you about the three most well
known monotheistic religions, which are Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
Judaism was the first monotheistic religion founded and was founded around
1000 BC by a man named Abraham. Christianity was later founded by a man
named Jesus and was loosely based on Judaism. Islam, most recently, was
founded by a prophet named Mohammad and is based on five core
principles. Judaism was the first one founded.
Judaism was the first monotheistic religion founded of the three and
was founded in approximately 1000 BC by a man named Abraham. Abraham
was spoken to by God in the stories, and listening to that voice, he traveled
around to the other side of the Arabian Desert to a region known as Canaan,
which is present day Israel. Abraham obeyed all of Gods orders and later
was blessed along with all his people. He founded the city of Jerusalem,
which still remains the capital of Judaism today. The Jews believed in the
Hebrew Bible and always acknowledged three of Gods messages. The
messages are that God must always be obeyed, Gods commands are not
easily understandable, and lastly, God will never force anyone to do
something evil. The Jews later traveled to Egypt and got captured. Moses, a
blessing sent by God, arrived and freed the Jews, leading them back to
Canaan. Christianity was founded later.
Christianity was founded soon after Judaism by a man named Jesus.
There was a story that a messiah would come, which is a prophet, and he
would restore love and peace to the world. A group of Jews believed he came
in the form of Jesus Christ, but most Jews still believe the messiah has yet to
come today. Jesus taught his new followers to love God and to treat people
how you wanted to be treated. Those were later named as the Two Great
Commandments. The Christians believed in the Bible, which consisted of
both the Old Testament(The Hebrew Bible) and the New Testament, which is
a collection of stories about the life and death of Jesus. Jesus was later
sentenced to death via crucifixion. Three days after he was buried, some
people visited his tomb and found him missing. Islam later was being
developed in a different region on the Earth.

Islam is the most recently founded of the three main monotheistic

religions. It was founded by a prophet named Mohammad. It started in a
region known as the Arabian Peninsula(present day Saudi Arabia) in a city by
the name of Mecca. Followers of this faith are called Muslims. There are five
core values every Muslim must follow, called the Five Pillars of Islam. You
must denounce all other gods and declare Allah is the only god, you must
pray five times a day facing the general direction of Mecca, you must give
charity to the poor, you must fast from dawn to dusk on the sacred holiday of
Ramadan, and you must make one pilgrimage to Mecca in your life as a
Muslim. Mecca is the sacred city/capital of Islam and is located in presentday Saudi Arabia. All Muslims follow a book named the Koran, which is the
Islamic holy book. That finishes Islam.
Judaism was the first monotheistic religion. Christianity and the Bible
followed. Islam most recently followed with the Koran. Those are the three
most followed, most well known monotheistic religions, and possibly in
general.
