and organizations, the Mayor Ramon A. Benjamin Sr. National High School
conducted the Global Hand Washing Day Celebration last October 14, 2016
with the theme Make Hand Washing a Habit. This activity aims to increase
the awareness and understanding on the importance of proper hand washing
with the use of soap and water as the simplest form, most cost-effective way
of improving sanitation and hygiene.
We held a one day activity with no disruption of classes. After the flag
ceremony, we conducted a short orientation to inform the students the
importance of hand washing. The SSG officers together with the Yes-O
officers spearheaded the said activity. They demonstrated the eight steps of
proper hand washing with the singing of the hand washing song Happy
Birthday. During the first period in the morning, all the subject teachers are
required to integrate the concepts on proper hand washing and its benefits
to their students.
To highlight the Global Hand washing Day celebration, all the teachers
and students participated in the synchronized hand washing at 9:00 AM
(before recess) and 9:45 AM (after the recess) with the singing of the hand
