Cooking the Organic Way

Laurel and her family journeyed into the

organic way of foods and food preparation as a
necessary way of life for their well-being and
good health.
Use only organic non GMO Glyphosate
ingredients, never use toxins again! Laurels
family choice include Rumford baking powder
and Rapunzel organic yeast. For quality yeast
experience be sure to add a little organic flour to
the warm filtered water and organic sugar
solution for better bread rising results.
Laurel herself almost perished as a result of not
eating organically wholesome foods, and had
7

suffered from numerous conditions such as IBS,

Migraine, and other conditions. While organic
foods are not a cure-all in itself, it is the
wholesome foods without Glyphosates, GMOs
and other toxins that do add quality and
goodness to life that otherwise would not be
there.

the bread into circles, like doughnuts, and bring
filtered water to a rolling boil. Let bagels rise,

Put one to three bagels that have risen into the
boiling water, cook each side for one minute, then
flip the bagels in the boiling water and let them

thoroughly; add organic maple syrup, organic
honey, organic raw sugar and fruits at this stage.
Then put it into the strainer for the clearish
colored whey full of organic protein and live

Note: Use your whey, the clear liquid that drains
off in the Greek yogurt process. It is useful in
many baking recipes.
To get firmer yogurt, and cheese like Feta use

Babies should not have this unless their doctor

advises it.
To make Kombucha, obtain only pure and natural
organic non GMO non Glyphosate ingredients.
Obtain organic scoby, a symbiotic colony of yeast
and bacteria starter for this fine beverage.
Materials: About 1 ounce liquid organic Scoby
1 Gallon brewed organic tea, green tea, Oolong
tea, or organic black tea
1 Cup evaporated organic raw sugar
Directions:
Bring tea to boil, you can make a quart of strong
tea and cool it with filtered water. Make sure the
temperature of the tea and sugar is about 110
degrees Fahrenheit, no hotter, or it will kill the
Scoby, a live culture of probiotic mixture.
Put the tea, sugar, and Scoby mixture into a large
glass container. Place a dark towel over the jar
67

Best Cookbook Organic Lifestyle Today By Laurel Sobol, Vivian Sobol, Sophia Sobol and Laura Sobol

and seal it with a rubber band. Let mixture stand

for about 8 days, in the kitchen in a corner left
alone is best. When the Scoby rises to the surface
of the fermented tea, the Kombucha is ready to
bottle in tightly sealed glass containers. Be sure to
label each container with the date.

Note: Save a two pints of the just fermented

kombucha as your starter mix for your next batch
of fine beverage that is over 1,500 years old, a
drink originating from China, adopted by Russia.
For carbonation add organic juice or fruit flavoring
to fermented tea that is to be put in bottles, I like
to use recycled brown glass bottles from fine
kombucha makers, and after thoroughly cleaning
the bottles, drying them, they are ready to put the
kombucha tea with fruit flavoring mixture into the
bottles and tightly sealed.

68

Then let the bottled tea rest for 38 hours in a cool

dark place to achieve carbonation. Then

that build your body cellular system, and promote
health. Even a sip a day is beneficial.
