Effective Contractor HSE Management

Workshop Objective:
The objectives of this workshop are to provide participants with a sustainable solution and
series of tools that can be used to enhance the way contractor safety is managed in the
workplace. Participants will become more familiar with some of these tools, their
applicability and value creation benefits to the Owner/ Operator. The ultimate outcome:
A more disciplined workforce, fewer incidents, and safer and more profitable operations.

Workshop Leader:
FACILITATOR: Dr. Chitram Lutchman
Biography: A 2014 Trinidad and Tobago NIHERST award for excellence in science and technology and a 2011 recipient of the pres gious McMaster University Arch award for unique and
excep onal accomplishments and contribu ons to society and Canadian development, Dr. Chit Lutchman is a hands-on O&G and EH&S professional with more than 20 years of experience
leading and working with personnel at the frontline. Today, Dr. Lutchman is regarded as one of Canada's leading experts on Contractor Safety Management. Dr. Lutchman has worked with PetroCanada, Suncor and BP Global. He now func ons as the VP Opera ons for an independent EH&S provider that supports the O&G industry.
Dr. Lutchman is a published author of the following books:
Project Execu on: A Prac cal Approach to Industrial and Commercial Project Management
(2010).
Safety Management: A Comprehensive Approach to Developing a Sustainable System (2012).
Process Safety Management - Leveraging Networks and Communi es of Prac ce for

His career include leadership roles in renery opera ons, commissioning and start-up of new projects, business planning and strategy development, EH&S and OEMS Management, and audi ng of
PSM, EH&S and Management Systems.
Chit is passionate about improving workplace safety. Having sustained injuries in the workplace much earlier in his career that led to a 10% disability in his arm, he is acutely aware of accompanying
lifestyle changes with incidents. Chit is a global EH&S Conference speaker and has presented in EH&S and PSM conferences in North America, Asia, the West Indies and the Middle East.
Chit holds a Doctoral Degree in Business Administra on -UoP, MBA - McMaster University and a BSc. Agricultural Sciences The University of the West Indies. He is a Cer ed Safety Professional
(CSP) and Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP). He is also a 1st Class Power Engineer.
