Based on a biblical text, And Miriam Sang is a song of celebration
following Israels deliverance from Egypt through the Red Sea. It
begins in a slow, chant-like manner, and soon shifts to an up-tempo
dance-like mood. Although the melodies are original, they incorporate the augmented second interval and melodic formulas common
to Hasidic and some Middle-Eastern music. The use of Hebrew text,
tambourine and drums add to the authentic feel.

1945, just after the end of the Second World
War. It is a hymn to hope in the divinity
that provides comfort and strength in the

a solo section at a much slower tempo, and
ends in a joyful character to the final amen.

movements, was premiered in London on July 11,
2010, by The Really Big Chorus (2,500 voices). It
sets the traditional Latin texts and incorporates
a setting of Psalm 150 in alternative Hebrew or
Latin texts. Between the movements, readings
from Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism and Islam are
given, in English or any language of choice.
