1. I am an Eligible Candidate for J&K SSS Scholarship. How Can I Apply for this
Scholarship?
Ans: Log on to http://www.aicte-jk-scholarship-gov.in/ (or)
http://www.aicte-india.org/JnKadmissions.php to apply for Online Registration
and Document Verification and follow the instructions on How to fill the online
application.
2. Is AADHAR Card a Mandatory Document for J&K SSS Scholarship?
Ans: AADHAR CARD is NOT MANDATORY for Submitting Online Application
under J&K SSS. However, for disbursement of Scholarship through DBT (Direct
Benefit Transfer), the Aadhaar details will be required.
3. Is J&K Domicile Required For J&K SSS Scholarship?
Ans: YES. Original Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority of J&K
state government needs to be produced during Document Verification.

4. Who Is Eligible for J&K SSS Scholarship?

Ans: Eligibility criteria under the J&K SSS Scholarship scheme:

Domicile

Must be domicile of J&K.

Education

Must have passed XII or Equivalent from State Board of J&K or from
Central Board Affiliated School(except NIOS) located in J&K.

Income

The family income from all sources for the Financial Year 2014-15
must be less than Rs. 6.0 Lakhs per annum.

5. Which Web Browser should be used to open the Online Application for J&K SSS
Scholarship?
Ans: Any of the existing web browsers like Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Chrome, etc.,
may be used.
06. Do I need to upload any Scanned Documents in Portal (AICTE Website) when I
apply online for J&K SSS Scholarship?
Ans: YES. Only Scanned Copy of Photo & Signature needs to be uploaded.

07. What format or size of Photo and Signature to upload in website for J&K SSS
Scholarship?
Ans: Both Photo & Signature Should be In JPG/JPEG format with Size <200kb
for Photo & <50 Kb for Signature.
08. I have filled & submitted my Online Application form. What Should I Do Next?
Ans: Take Printout of Online Filled Application and visit your nearest Facilitation
Centre along with Original Documents & One Set of Self Attested Photocopies
(Xerox) of all Original Documents for Document Verification.
09. I have submitted my Online Application for J&K SSS Scholarship. Is It Possible to
edit my application?
Ans: YES. Nodal Officer of Facilitation Centre can only edit subject to the
production of Original Documents in support of your claim/request for editing.
10. Is there any User Manual available on AICTE Website to guide the candidate to
Apply Online for Admission under J&K SSS Scholarship?

11. I Have Registered On AICTE Website but I did not receive any Confirmation mail to
my E-mail id. What should I do?
Ans: You will definitely receive confirmation mail to your e-mail address. In case of

12. Is their any Helpline No. (Or) E-mail for J&K SSS Scholarship Queries?

13. I have Passed XIIth in Commerce Stream. Am I Eligible for Engineering?
Ans: NO. But you are Eligible for Courses designed for Commerce Stream under
General Stream approved by U.G.C.
14. To which Facilitation Centre should I go for Document Verification?
Ans: You can go to any one of the Facilitation Centres established by J & K State
Government as per your convenience for Document Verification. (List of Facilitation
Centres is available at http://www.aicte-india.org/jnkadmissions.php

15. I am XIIth Passed J&K Student in Science Stream. Am I Eligible for Medical Stream
Under this J&K SSS Scholarship?
Ans: There is No counselling for Medical Stream. However, the candidate who
seeks admission in any of the courses in Medical Stream (MBBS, BDS, BAMS,
BHMS, etc.) on his/her own merit within the sanctioned intake in any of the
institutions recognized by the respective Regulatory bodies & located outside the
State of J&K is eligible to avail the benefit of scholarship under this scheme based on
the merit at class XIIth and number of seats available under the scheme, provided
the candidate has submitted his/her online application under General Stream for
admissions under J & K SSS 2015-16 and the documents are verified by any of the
facilitation centres.
16. Is It Compulsory for me to apply Online to become eligible for Claiming Scholarship
under J&K SSS?
Ans: YES. You are required to apply Online and get your original documents
verified at Facilitation Centres to be considered for the J & K SSS Scholarship for
2015-16.
17. I wish to pursue my studies in IIT/NIT/Centrally funded Institutions/AICTE
approved Institutions with NBA accredited programs/Courses on my own without
participating in J&K SSS counselling Process 2015-16. Am I eligible for J&K SSS
scholarship?
Ans: YES. Any candidate who seeks admission in any of the IIT/NIT/Centrally
funded/AICTE approved institutions with NBA Accredited programs/Courses / UGC
12(b) recognized institutions (within the sanctioned intake) located outside the State
of J&K on his/her own merit is eligible to avail the benefit of Scholarship under this
scheme based on the merit at class XII and number of seats available under the
scheme , provided the candidate has submitted his/her online application under
General / Engineering Stream for admissions under J & K SSS 2015-16 and the
documents are verified by any of the facilitation centres.
18. From Where Can I Get the Information On AICTE & UGC Approved Institution
Under J&K SSS Admission?

20. Is It Necessary for me to submit Original Documents to the Facilitation Centre after
the Document Verification?
Ans: NO ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS ARE TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE
FACILITATION CENTRES. However, you are required to submit one set of Self
Attested Photocopies to the Facilitation Centre after the Document Verification.
21. Is there any Document I should collect from Facilitation Centre after Document
Verification process?
Ans: Yes. You must collect Document Verification Report from the Facilitation
Centre without fail. You are required to produce the Document Verification Report
at the Counselling centre at the time of Counselling.
22. Is It Compulsory for me to Choose Counselling Centre while submitting my online
Application?
Ans: Yes. It is mandatory to choose either JAMMU (or) SRINAGAR for
counselling while submitting your Online Application.
23. I passed XIIth standard from the Board outside of J&K. Am I eligible to apply for
admission under J&K SSS?
Ans: In order to apply under J&K SSS one should have passed XIIth Standard only
from any of the boards in J&K State.
24. What is the J & K Scholarship Amount for various streams?
Ans: Following types of fee will be reimbursed subject to maximum of ceiling as
mentioned in the scheme (or) the fee fixed by the Fee Regulatory Authority of
respective State.

26. Is it necessary to submit separate online application for General & Engineering
Stream under J&K SSS?
Ans: Candidates are required to select Both option from the dropdown menu under
Stream applied for field, if they want to apply for both General & Engineering
Stream under J&K SSS while submitting online Application.
