COMPANY PROFILE
Davies Paints Philippines, Inc. is the distributor of one of the best premium
decorative paint brands in the Philippines. The company started operations in
1982 under the company name Charter Chemical and Coating Corp., setting up
the first plant and offices in Pasig City, Metro Manila.
Over the years, the company has produced numerous innovative and pioneering
products such as BIOFRESH, the first local odorless and anti-bacterial paint.
Clean Air is also the first anti-formaldehyde paint while AQUA GLOSS-IT is the
first water based quick drying enamel paint.
Davies paints is also acknowledged as the Paint company with the most number
of colors as shown by its color selection offered under its ready to use products.
It is also the number one local exporter of paints to the asia pacific region and is
currently exporting to Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Palau, Papua New Guinea,
and Vietnam.
Today, Davies Paints is one of the leading premium paint brands in the country
and is acknowledged by architects, designers, engineers, painting contractors
and consumers for its products excellent quality, decorative and functional
properties.
The companys distribution network is now 1,200 strong and the brand is
available in most hardware and modern retail stores and paint centers
nationwide.
Aside from being a member of the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and
Phil. Green Building Council (PHILGBC), a number of Davies products also

come with certificates as a testament to its commitment to quality and safety for
the environment.

BUSINESS HISTORY
Organized in 1982, Charter Chemical & Coating Corporation, the manufacturer
of Davies Paints, began operations by establishing its first plant and office
along Mercedes Avenue, San Miguel, Pasig City. The company started to
manufacture and distribute decorative paints under its brand names Davies
Premium Decorative Paints, Coat Saver Paints and EZ Coat Paints.
In 1990, the company was appointed by CHUGOKU MARINE PAINT, LTD.,
JAPAN, the world renowned and Japans No.1 marine paint company, to
distribute marine paints and heavy duty coatings in the Philippines through
MAINCOAT, INC.
Charter Chemical & Coating Corporation has established a strong relationship
and distribution network throughout the country with one thousand two hundred
distributors and dealers located in various parts of the country, in which we are
able to satisfy the demands and service requirements of our customers.
In 1991, the Cebu branch in the Visayas was inaugurated and in 1992, the Davao
branch in Mindanao was established to cope with the growing demands of paint
users in the Southern part of the Philippines.
Today, Charter Chemical & Coating Corporation has grown as one of the
countrys leader in the manufacture of paints and coatings. It now employs over
416 personnel working together in an atmosphere of harmony and cooperation to
meet the challenges of the future.
