At the AGM in July a new
Committee was elected.John
Edds -Chairperson Lil Wylie Secretary, Dianne Ball -Treasurer,Louise Fields,Maurice
Denton,Laurence Jones, and
Peter Welch. -Committee
Members.John Edds advised
that this will be his last year as
Chairperson.

Power News
Early numbers suggest that the
peak shifting exercise for our
electricity supply is already
saving money. Our investment
in the project is expected to be
repaid in a about 12 months,
and the savings can then be
passed on to us as consumers. Thanks Noel McGilvray and
Laurie Jones.

Painting
We are not satisfied with the
maintenance painting recently
undertaken, and the owner of
the company came on site this
week to discuss rectification
work.We are holding back a
progress payment until we are
satisfied with the result.Expect
to see some more activity over
coming weeks.

Property Values
There has been a steady increase in the value of St Kitts
apartments, with recent sales reflecting an improving
trend. The general economy of the Sunshine Coast is improving with unemployment numbers moving positively, the new
hospital is now in the commissioning stage, and there are expansion plans for Kawana Shopping World. We can all play a
role in maintaining that momentum by making sure that the
complex stays in first class condition. The Committee will play
a part by looking after maintenance, and gardens and grounds;
and you can help by keeping washing out of sight on balconies, having appropriate patio furniture, and no towels
draped over chairs. Remember that bicycles, refrigerators etc
are not allowed on balconies. With warmer weather approaching, please be mindful of loud music through open doors,
smoking disrupting your neighbours comfort, and appropriate
pool behaviour by you and your guests.

Gardens and Grounds

We have once again embarked on our annual renovation programme with the aim of keeping gardens low maintenance

Recycling Guidelines
and water wise.Planting budgets have now been finalised, and
you can expect to see our garden volunteers out and about,
planting, mulching, fertilising, and watering in our new acquisitions.
The volunteers assist in keeping values up and levies reasonable. If we were to hire gardeners to carry out these roles,
then it would be a substantial financial impost.
We are generally good recyclers
at St Kitts but every now and
then we find odd things in the
recycling bin. Please remember
that we cannot recycle:Plastic bags
Broken glass or crystal
Crockery
Timber

Whilst we cant all be gardeners, we can all pull out a weed or,
if you think an area needs more greenery, contact one of our
volunteers and donate a plant after consultation with them.
The spirit of giving is alive and well in the Bimini building
with residents donating over $2,000 for a major Fragrant
Garden project. Our volunteers not only donate their time,
but often donate a special plant or garden icon.A resident of
Caletta just last week gave a cash donation in recognition of
the gardening peoples eorts. Thanks to that person and our
team.

Christmas Party Organiser Needed

Fabrics
Polystyrene
Food stuffs
Aluminium Foil
We also need to rinse out bottle
and cans, and make sure Pizza
boxes have no residue in them.If
in doubt put it in the general
rubbish.Remember, that one dud
item ruins a whole load.
We have extended recycling to
the townhouses, and compliance
with the guidelines is very good.
You may also notice the green
waste bins near the Kayak shed,
which have ensured that St Kitts
garden waste contributes to sustainability.

St Kitts needs a Christmas Party, and I am looking for a volunteer organiser to step forward. We need early action to firm
up a date, suspend house rules for an evening to allow alcohol
in the gym area, and plan the catering, decorations, music,
invitations etc. Please contact me by email at eddsfam@bigpond.com if you wish to be the fun creator.

Thats a! folks
I head into my final year as Chairperson looking for someone else to take the reins next July.
It is a demanding but satisfying role that pays
nothing other than seeing your Community
grow and prosper. I am keen to mentor and
guide any candidate for the position.Send me an email or
knock on the door of Apartment #9.See you around St
Kitts
