Investing Club Constitution and Bylaws

ARTICLE I: NAME & PURPOSE


Section A: Name The name of this club shall be:
The Pups of Wall Street
Section B: Purpose The purpose of this club shall be:
1. To educate members about the stock market and the factors that affect it
2. To develop keen financial awareness at a young age
3. To provide an entertaining way for members to participate in the market, without
risking their personal assets
ARTICLE II: MEMBERSHIP & DUES
Section A: Eligibility - Membership shall be open to anyone in the Stevenson
community.
Section B: Active Membership Executive Committee will ratify ACTIVE membership
monthly during planning meetings.
ARTICLE III: OFFICERS
Section A: Officers The officers shall be two Co-Presidents and a Vice-President
Section B: Eligibility Officers must be students and ACTIVE members of the club.
Section C: Election Future Co-Presidents shall be appointed by current CoPresidents, upon the current Co-Presidents graduation. The Vice-President shall be
elected through ballot at the beginning of every trimester.
Section D: Term The Co-Presidents shall serve for the duration of their Stevenson
schooling experience, or until such time that they are no longer able or willing to
participate. Vice Presidents shall serve for one trimester, unless re elected.
Section E: Vacancy If a vacancy occurs in the office of either Co-President, the
other Co-President shall appoint another member to the office for the remainder of
the term.
ARTICLE IV: DUTIES OF OFFICERS
Section A: Co-Presidents it shall be the duty of the Co-Presidents to:
Preside at meetings
Represent the club in any official capacity
Coordinate all communication with school entities
Invite guest lecturers and coordinate events
Section B: Vice-President It shall be the duty of the Vice-President to:

Preside at meetings

Rule in the absence of both Co-Presidents

Tally minutes during meetings

Take attendance

Act as a tiebreaker in the event that the Co-Presidents disagree


ARTICLE V: MEETINGS

Section A: Meetings Regular meetings shall be held twice monthly on the second
and fourth Tuesdays of the month from 9:30- 10:15AM during the regular school year,
unless otherwise notified (i.e. special schedules, during finals, and school breaks)
Section B: Special Meeting Special meetings may be called by the Co-Presidents,
with approval from the current Vice-President.
Section C: Quorum A quorum shall consist of one fifth (1/5) of the Active
membership.
ARTICLE VI: EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Section A: Responsibility Management of this club shall be vested in an
Executive Committee responsible to the entire membership to uphold these bylaws.
Section B: Membership This committee shall consist of the officers as listed in
Article III and the faculty advisor.
Section C: Meetings This committee shall meet at least once monthly to organize
and plan future activities.
ARTICLE VII: ADVISOR
Section A: Duties The responsibilities of the faculty advisor shall be to:
Maintain an awareness of the activities and programs sponsored by the
student club.
Meet on a regular basis with the leader of the student club to discuss
upcoming meetings, long range plans, goals, and problems of the club.
Attend regular meetings, executive board meetings as often as schedule
allows.
Assist in the orientation of new officers.
Explain and clarify campus policy and procedures that apply to the club.
Inform club members of those factors that constitute unacceptable behavior
on the part of the club members, and the possible consequence of said
behaviors.
ARTICLE IX: AMENDMENTS
Section A: Selection these bylaws may be amended by an agreement between
the Co-Presidents at any time. Should the Co-Presidents not reach an agreement,
the Vice-Presidents vote will decide.
Section B: Notice All members shall receive advance notice of the proposed
amendment at least three days before the meeting.
