Sports Gaming Club Constitution and Bylaws

ARTICLE I: NAME & PURPOSE


Section A: Name The name of this club shall be Sports Gaming Club
Section B: Purpose The purpose of this club is:
1. To bee a club which focuses on sports games, including FIFA 17, NBA 2K17,
and possibly others, based on member feedback.
2. To be a fun and non-competitive club where students can take a break from
school to enjoy playing games with classmates.
3. To possibly benefit student athletes by teaching strategies and techniques
that improve their personal game.
ARTICLE II: MEMBERSHIP & DUES
Section A: Eligibility - Membership is open to anyone.
Section B: Active Membership All members can participate in any events.
ARTICLE III: OFFICERS
Section A: Officers There will be three club leaders each responsible for a
subdivision of sports gaming.
Section B: Eligibility Officers must be students and active members of the
club.
Section C: Election No elections for any positions
Section D: Term The officers shall serve for one school year
Section E: Vacancy If a vacancy occurs in the office of club leader, the
remaining leaders will elect a new leader to take his or her position.
ARTICLE IV: DUTIES OF OFFICERS
Section A: Leader it shall be the duty of the Leaders to:

Represent the club in any official capacity


Coordinate all communication with school entities
Organize dates and times for meetings
Post schedules and meeting times on edsby consistently
Coordinate so at least two leaders attend each meeting
Attend the tournaments
ARTICLE V: MEETINGS

Section A: Meetings The first meeting will be held on October 4, 2016 during
activities period in T102. We will hold semi-frequent meetings during activities periods in T102. We will
post on edsby a few days beforehand each meeting. Meetings will also be held nearly every Saturday

from 1-3pm in the Silverado Common Room. There will be no consequence for missing

any meetings for members.


Section B: Tournaments A tournament for NBA 2K17 and FIFA 17 will be held
every fall, winter, spring term. They will be held in the Silverado Common Room
from 3-5pm. See the agenda for specific dates.
ARTICLE VI: EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Section A: Responsibility Manage the Sports Gaming Club by helping
organizing meetings and mock conferences, communicating with advisor and the
school
Section B: Membership This committee shall consist of the officers as listed
in Article III and the faculty advisors. Membership is granted by precedent
committee or appointed by the President
Section C: Meetings This committee shall meet at as dictated by the
President to organize and plan future activities.
ARTICLE VII: ADVISOR
Section A: Duties The responsibilities of the faculty advisor shall be to:
Meet occasionally with the leaders to discuss upcoming
meetings and events of the club.
Inform club members of those factors that constitute
unacceptable behavior on the part of the club members, and the possible
consequence of said behaviors.
Suggest ways to amend our club and improve functionality

ARTICLE IX: AMENDMENTS


Section A: Selection these bylaws may be amended by a majority vote of the
club leaders or an executive decision by the club advisor. New games or consoles
can be proposed by members, but can only be carried out by a majority ruling by
group leaders.
