Mumbai, India: October 28, 2016 Advanced Enzyme Technologies Limited (Advanced Enzymes; NSE:
ADVENZYMES.NS; BSE:540025), a leading specialty biotech company, with global leadership in the
manufacturingofenzymes,todayannouncedthatithasenteredintodefinitiveagreementswithAPImaker
JC Biotech to acquire a 70% stake for a consideration of Rs. 50 Crores. The proposed transaction was
approvedbytheboardofAdvancedEnzymestoday.

our market leadership in API Serratiopeptidase, giving us significant competitive advantage as well as
flexibility in production. JC Biotech has the ability to handle solvent based fermentation & recovery,
whichishighlycomplementarytoourcurrentproductionprocess.
Headquartered in Hyderabad, JC Biotech is the manufacturer of API Serratiopeptidase, an anti
inflammatory enzyme, and has a R&D pipeline of biopharma molecules. It also has a fairly advanced
technology for the manufacturing of algal DHA, an Omega 3 Fatty Acid which finds great application in
HumanNutrition.JCBiotechhasaproductionfacilityinAndhraPradesh,andhastheabilitytoexpandits
fermentationcapacityof60m3further.
JC Biotech currently commands a 50%+ share in the Indian market, thereby taking Advanced Enzymes
combinedmarketshareto80%+postacquisition.
Asof31stMarch2016,JCBiotechsrevenuesstoodatRs.39Crores,withaProfitAfterTax(PAT)ofRs.2.5
Crores.
TheacquisitionisexpectedtocloselatestbyendofDecember 2016.AdvancedEnzymeswillfinancethe
acquisition largely through internal accruals. Upon closing, the acquisition is expected to be accretive to
AdvancedEnzymesEPSforFY17.
