8/31/2016:
I would choose the color black and blue for the book. I choose because the black represent the
sorrow of the daughter when the dad has to go somewhere far to make money. The color blue
also describe about the story because the blue represent the courage that the father has to go
somewhere to make money even if it means being without his wife and daughter for a long time.
9/1/2016:
The picture reminds me of one of the picture in the book The Arrival where the
boat is heading towards a big cloudy storm.(The Unknown)
clouds dashed across the lands and starts to grow and get bigger and bigger.
I think the purpose for this picture is to show bravery because the man in picture
is going after the storm to know what is happening even if it is dangerous.
9/6/16:
I saw people scattered around the field. It seems like the background is similar to the picture for
the previous journal. In the picture, I think that the people were happy until they saw a stone-like
building smoking. I predict that the people will migrate to somewhere else because of the
smoking building. Plus, the building looked like the stone hedge.
9/7/16:
The picture of the Roman society looks very nice and a good society because of
the is nice-looking buildings.
I think the mood for this picture is more of a happy feeling. It makes me feel like I
wanted to live there.
The Roman society reminds of the Greek society. Their culture almost identical.
I think that the author is trying to describe how the Roman society was like.
9/8/16:
In my Utopia, it is a minecraft world with no rules or limits. You can destroy anything you want
wherever and whenever, plus, you can even build anything in minecraft even if it is dangerous.
Also, you will never die and nothing will attack you, even hostile mobs. You are also allowed to
spawn mobs including hostile and bosses in minecraft. Everything will be a blast in my world.
9/12/16:
An effect from Julius Caesar is that he saved Brutuss life and treated him like a son which is a
positive. But because he was a dictator, this became a negative effect.
Ace:

I can infer that Julius Caesar has a negative aspect for the public. The article,
World Leaders: Julius Caesar, it says that Caesar was made dictator of his life and was
called the father of his country. This shows that he was more like a king and because
he banned kings to rule, the senators got mad and plot an assassination to kill Julius.

But Julius wasnt always bad, one evidence states that he gave land to the poor which
has a positive aspect. But overall, he is still considered as a dictator.

Visigoths sack Rome, and then other barbarian groups, such as the

9/14/16:
We found out that over population lead to Roman disunity so people can find another
place to live to making friends with enemies because theyre living with another nation
which lead them to betraying their formal country: Rome, this cause a lot of barbarian
attacks and then, all the Romans die.
9/15/16:

I am in peace until, I felt something hit me very hard. OUCH! The army in front of
me is trying to destroy me. Stop it! I yelled in rage. Why do you want to kill me? I am
assuming that the army is mad at the Roman Empire I am protecting. But why are they
mad. Anyway, the amy is ignoring me. Why do they want to destroy me? Why cant you
just go away! The army keep hitting me with their swords and projectiles from their
catapults.
From being very strong to now being injured as if I was an old man. Part of my
body part is breaking part and it is about to fall to the ground. Good thing though, I have
people on me shooting arrows at the enemies. HOORAY! But, there were fireballs and
flaming arrows flying towards me and, uh-oh, the flaming balls and arrows hit one of my
heads and the defenders are gone and Im on fire!
Projectiles are hitting me repeatedly and I am going to fall and die. Goodbye
world, I am now going to hell and be there forever. But Somehow, the army isnt trying to
destroy me. Instead, they went over me and to the other side to get to Rome. Few, good
thing I didnt die. But, 1 hour later, I am falling to the ground and I will die. Good luck
Roman Empire.
9/21/16:
I think that the theme in the article, Teens_Raise_Homelessness, is telling us that
even though people look down on you, you are still a good person and has talents. I
believe that this is the lesson because, Some people think homeless people are slowwitted and not resourceful. We underestimate how brave and strong the homeless can
be, Ms. Conklin said. Overall, I think that the lesson for the article is that you are and
still great no matter what people think of you.

9/22/16:
The ages for this time was very dark. A year ago, I remember that the Romans I
invaded our country and took great control over it. Many people from my country was
killed and my parents were one of them. This was my saddest moment.
But we almost notice something about Rome, it is getting weaker and weaker.
The next day, thinking of attacking Rome once it lost all its power. So, the survivors and
I plan and plan for months and months and finally, we are prepared. Our plan was that
some of us including me will pretend and work for the Roman Army while the others will
just attack Rome.
And so we got to our plan. I came along with some other survivors to Rome. We
told the emperor that we will help them in their military. Luckily, that planned worked.
And soon, the others were fighting the Romans. Sneakily, we betrayed them and
because the Roman army were out numbered a lot, we killed all of them. And now, we
invaded Rome and bring it down all the way to the ground, we did it! I am a Visigoth, I
must do what is right and destroy Rome because of what they did to our country.
Hopefully, there will be a new empire and a better one.

From the news, Pope Francis Quotes, I choose the quote that says Where there is no
work, there is no dignity. I can infer that Pope Francis is a hard worker and a very
honest person.
9/30/16:
Similarities - Both believe in Christianity, both monotheistic, faith in jesus, priests and
leaders, used icons, read the bible
Roman Catholicism - Western Roman Empire, Rome is the capital, Pope is the leader,
they speak Latin, the conflicts are barbarians invasions.
Eastern Orthodoxy - Eastern Byzantine Empire, Constantinople is the capital, Emperor
and Patriarch were the leaders, they spoke Greek, and the conflict is Icon Controversy.
10/4/16:

here were people all over the place holding the deadliest weapons. They tried to slice
me to dices and shoot arrows at me so I could die. Everytime, I dodged every spears,
swords, and arrows that tries to penetrate me. And I decided to do my own payback, I
breathed the hottest thing, fire, and scorched the angry men to ashes.
Long ago, these men attacked my species, good thing I and a few had survived.
But there were a lot of dragons who got killed by these men filled with hatred. This has
changed everything, because of this, we got more aggressive and very savage.
Now, we had to fight back because these mad men are getting more powerful
and evil. Last time when we decide to fight back, we had an epic fail. We were
unprepared, we didnt these dragon slayers were very powerful and underestimated
them. But now, it is them who underestimated us.
My clan had developed a great strategy and attacked at the right moment! We
led them down to hell. This is one of my favorite times, especially these people. But, we
devoted to ourselves to never attack the innocents. And this is what makes us not a at
monster but a good dragon with a heart as warm as the flames that burns everything.
10/6/16:

2) Compound - The skater flew through the air, and then he fell into the

1) The word on my list that has a POSITIVE connotation is Superior and the
word with the most NEGATIVE connotation is acceptable.
2) I am a superior person best at everything. My friend is not that good at
running but he is still acceptable for the team.
3) The word coward has a NEGATIVE connotation, while nervous is more of
a POSITIVE connotation.

Homely - I always have a homely look especially when wearing my ripped pajamas.
Aggressive - The stray dog is very aggressive and it a hundred people a year.
Monstrous - Long ago, there lived a monstrous creature with a very terrifying
appearance.
Sorrowful - I feel sorrowful all the time because I get bad luck every time.
