THE FULL CLUB WILL BE BACK ON 4TH AUGUST
For those who have not taken part in this competition before, everyone
swims 100m Frontcrawl (4 lengths). The winner of each heat goes
through to the next round. 100m Frontcrawl is swum again with the
winner of each heat going into round three and so on until in the final
round the four swimmers compete for the trophy. Every round is
handicapped so that each swimmer has an equal chance of winning
the heat. Entry times will be recorded by time trials during training or
your personal best time will be used.
Lost Property
There is a constant problem of water bottles and goggles etc being left
at the pool either after training or at competition. I have a lost property
box which I have on poolside every session to act as a focal point for
missing or abandoned property. The goggles are recycling but the
water bottle collection is growing!!
New Members
The club has welcomed the following swimmer after the recent
members’ nights: -
Jessica Millar
Coaching
The coaching team is pleased to have two new members. Lorraine Hay
now assists on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays for squads 1 and 2
and Stephen Lissaman assists on Saturday mornings. Senga Restorick
has taken over as lead coach for the whole of squad 2. Allison and I will
continue to work with the top two lanes.

Second round of this competition saw some changes to the teams from
the first round and some changes to the swims they did (mainly due to
the fact some are now too fast for some events). Declan Till and Cory
Paterson took full points in their events. The largest PB of the day went
to Charlie Smith with a 9.46 reduction now making him too fast for this
event.
This was the first time we attended this competition, with some
outstanding results. There were too many huge PB’s the largest one
going to Emma Robertson with 16.46 of her 100 Breast time.
