A. Significance of the Study

College Students of FEU-Makati. This research paper would be able to
help the students of FEU-Makati specifically in applying for a job because it
will help them assess themselves if they are truly competent and ready to
face the real corporate world-the bigger world outside of college. Since
companies and corporations can only accommodate limited people, they will
always choose the the crme de la crme only and ignore the subpar of the
applicants.
Professors of FEU-Makati. This research would be very valuable for
academicians of FEU-Makati because thru this study, they could gauge the
competencies and capabilities of the FEU-Makati Tamaraws. It will highlight
the students strength and skills. On contrary to that, It will also point out the
students weaknesses and waterloos. Having knowledge about such us is
vital for the professors role in honing the students holistically.
Companies and Corporations. Organizations such as companies and
corporations spend a lot of resources on finding the right people for the right
jobs. Aside from money, Human Resourcing also costs a lot of time and
effort. Thru this study, hiring FEU-Makati Tamaraws will be more cost efficient
and effective in terms of monetary cost, time, and effort because they will be
already given a brief evaluation.
Philippines as a Nation. This study is pivotal for bringing about societal
changes in our country particularly with the sector of our economy.
Competent individuals are needed for the growth and development of an
organization and most importantly, the nations economy. The FEU-Makati
Tamaraws are part of the working force of the Philippines; Therefore, They
are stakeholders in our development and growth.

B. Scope and Delimitation

This study focuses on the FEU-Makati Tamaraws as Human Capital. It will
show their rate of competency and capability in changing an organization,
and the Philippines as an aggregate for the better. Their competencies and
capabilities will be gauged by how much they are socially-aware (Having
Knowledge of The National Situation so that they could address the
problems) , socially relevant (Rate of how they are passionate and in love
with the Philippines) , and their critical thinking skills (Abstraction, Creativity,
Logic). Random Tamaraws from different intellectual hierarchy are to be
made respondents to avoid a normative bias.
Due to time constraints, this research will no longer discuss the
competencies and capabilities of the other university students other than
FEU-Makati Tamaraws. Moreover, the FEU-Makati graduates of the previous
batches preceding this research will no longer be included.

C. Materials and Methods

This research will make use of the survey method since the main object of
it is to gather up to date information, insights, and samples from individuals
more specifically the FEU-Makati Tamaraws. The survey method by definition
is gathering of data by the means of using a questionnaire or polls with the
objective of making a statistical inference towards a certain population.
The questionnaire to be used is a quiz type. It will contain three parts: 1.
Critical Thinking, 2. Social Relevance, and 3. Social Awareness.The questions
from the questionnaire are taken from non-internet sources to avoid cheating
and manipulation of the results. The questions are not easy nor difficultthey're average. Random Tamaraws from different intellectual hierarchy are
to be made respondents to avoid a normative bias. The mode of distribution
of questionnaires is thru and electronic platform (GSheets) for the convience
of the respondents also on the part of the researchers. Results and statistical
information will be interpreted using graphs and tables and figures are then
to be interpreted.

D. Definition of Terms

Abstraction. The act of obtaining or removing something from a source.

Catalyst. Something or someone that is active who contribute to the cause
of things.
Change. The act of giving a different position, course, or direction.
Critical Thinkers. Individuals who come up with judgments based on logic,
facts, and opinion.
Human Capital.

Tamaraws. An individuals studying in Far Eastern University. However, in
this study, this pertains to the FEU-Makati students.

DISCUSSION
Importance of Being Socially Aware and Socially Relevant in Bringing
about Societal Change
If one must to change the Philippines for the better and bring about societal
change, he must be socially aware. One must know the terrain he is treading
on to get to where he is heading. It is important that we are aware of what is
really happening in our country-The National Situation. Knowing this is vital if
we were to solve our nations problems- the problem, its root and how to
address it. Moreover, One must also be socially relevant. One must keep in
mind a clear stand on which country he is really serving. Sun Tzu once said
in his book, The Art of War, that before letting your soldiers into battle, you
must let them know the reason to win the war. Same goes with the

Philippines. We should keep striving and and put in earnest effort because we
dearly love our country, the Philippines.

The Importance of Critical Thinking in Problem Solving

Critical Thinking is vital especially in solving problems. It enhances ones
problem-solving capacities in ways that no other activity does. It improves
ones ability to analyze concepts,definitions,arguments,and problems. It
contributes to ones capacity to organize ideas and issues,to deal with
questions of value, and to extract what is essential from the masses of
information. It enables one to distinguish fine differences between views and,
at the same time, to discover common ground between opposing positions.
Further, It teaches on how to synthesize a variety of views or perspectives
into a unified whole. Aside from enhancing the intellectual capacity of ones
mind, Critical Thinking also hones ones communication skills. It provides
some of the basic tools of self-expression- for instance, skills in presenting
ideas through well-constructed,systematic arguments-that other activities
either do not use or use less extensively. Moreover, It helps one to better
express what is distinctive of ones view; enhances ones ability to explain
difficult material; and helps one to eliminate ambiguities and vagueness from
ones writing and speech. 1
