Anticipatory Set: (Activating prior knowledge/procedures, Preview/Review)

Discuss vibrations and sound
Ask students what they know about the relationship between sound and vibration
Ask students how they know when something is vibrating
Explain to students that we will be learning how sound and vibrations and music
all relate to one another
Mini-Lesson: (Explain/Demonstrate the lesson)
Demonstrate with triangle how certain sounds can be made through vibrations
Teacher will write on board of the sounds he or she hears
Teacher will ask student volunteers to stand up and take an instrument
Everyone the student and the teacher will play in unison
Students will arrange themselves from highest to lowest pitch
Procedures:
Students will pair up and share materials between the pairs
Have student interact with the materials between pairs and try to make it have
different sounds
Students will use materials to make noises and take notes on what they hear on
provided sheet
Have kids think about sound vibration and what they feel, see, and hear
Have each group play their provided instrument to the class
Students will match up with another partner whose pitch of their instrument is
most closely related to theirs
Students will then arrange themselves in a line from the highest to the lowest pitch
Clean up/ Close out/ Review
Return all materials into large class plastic box
