1.

During this period I spent roughly eighteen hours observing Matt. I did this over the summer in anticipation for this
project. During these days I went to the Echo clinic on John street. We saw ten patients the first day and fourteen the next.
I have seen a wide variety of medical needs come into the office so far. Since this is a family doctor we see pretty much
everything. To start out I am just watching and answeing questions. I have not yet gotten the oprotunity to be hands on.
Below is a bulleted list of what I have witnessed so far.
Common cold
Patients suffering from depression who have come to get medicine
Foot fungus
Pregnancy Test
Abdominal pain
Patients suffering from chest pain
Follow up appointments for perscription medication administration
I have also met with Matt to discuss more dates for observing and the required interview.

Explain what you did during this log period. The length of this section will depend on the amount of time you have spent on the
project during this period of time. If you collected money, where have you deposited it? *Submit at least one artifact as evidence of
work done on this log.

What problems have you encountered so far? How have you adhered to your original timeline?
I have not ran into huge problems yet, things seem to be going smoothly. However, I have had a problem with laughing
at patients, which is not recommended. Matt had to check a man's throat and he said AHHHH extremly exagerated and I
started cracking up. Also a women eplained to us she had been having exsessive diarea and for some reason I thought it
was very funny as well. Laughing is something im going to have to stop in order to be more proffessional or it will pose as
a problem as I continue this project. I would hate to make a patient mad and give the office a bad reputation. Also I had to
move the meeting with matt to October 8th rather then August 30th. He was just too busy.
Were you able to solve them? If not, why not? What adjustments have you made to your original timeline?
As time goes on I wil be able to solve this laughing problem. I believe that as I see reoccuring cases I will begin to
have the minset of a doctor and act profesionally regauring things that usually make me giggle.

4.

What are your feelings or thoughts about the project at this time?
I have really enjoyed getting to observe Matt. It makes me excited for the future in college and to start a career soon.
I am also somewhat stressed because I know there is still alot of work to be done with this project and I want it to be done
early.

5.

Have you had any successes, or have you learned something new?
I have learned many new things while observing. I now know why it takes FOREVER for the doctor to see you when you go.
It is because they read and review all your medical history to know about your body and past in order to help you to the fullest
extent. I have also learned alot about blood pressure the top number of the reading is called the systolic and the bottom number
is called the diastolic. A healthy range for systolic is below 120 and a healthy range for diastolic is below 80. I look forward to
learning many more new things as time goes on.
