MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: Jeremiah 46-48; Hebrews 10
Monday, November 7

Acts 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they
were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they
had been with Jesus.

TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE

Chronological Bible Reading: Jeremiah 49-52; Hebrews 11
Tuesday, November 8

John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Oh Father!
Give me a conspicuous likeness Christ! I can read the life of Christ in the
gospels, but the best life of Christ is his living biography written in my
reactions, my attitudes and my words. Make me really be all I profess to be.
By your Holy Spirit, make me be all I am supposed to be. Make me such a
picture of Christ the whole world will recognize the image!
Let __________ and __________ admit I have been with Jesus. Let me be
taught of him so I can be like him. I want to catch the very idea and concept of
the Man from Nazareth, and work him out in my everyday actions. Therefore,
Make me like Christ in my boldness. Why should I blush to own his
name? My testimony will never disgrace me; make it so I never disgrace my
testimony! Make me very valiant for Christ. This is practical evangelism.
Make me like Jesus in my love and in my spirit. Help me think kindly,
speak gently, and do tenderly. Give me humility.
Make me like Christ in his holiness. Time is too preciouskeep me
from wasting it. Jesus was self-denying, never looking out for himself. Make me
the same. Jesus continually prayed even though he was the very Son of God.
How much more do I need to be fervent in prayer? Jesus deferred to his Fathers
will in all things. Let me submit myself to him. Since he was patient, teach me to
endure. For the most accurate portrait, help me forgive my enemies. Returning
good for evil is godlike. In all my ways and by any means necessary, make me
more like Jesus, so others can see him and be saved. Amen.

Jesus, My Redeemer:
In all my contacts and relationships this week, help me remember the Lamb
of God who takes away the sin of the world. The burden of soulwinning is not
on me, because the gospel is simply you, Jesus, drawing sinners to yourself.
Everyone who hears of you is drawn, even though not everyone yields.
You draw them with the promise of rest. Some of the most religious
people I have ever known have been the most uncertain about their own
salvation, because they were trusting in works and not in grace. So they forever
have doubts about whether they have done enough. And the more sincere they
are, the more they fear they have not attended enough church, given enough
money, said enough rosaries, or performed enough rituals to please you.
When I turn my eyes to view you on the cross, and see the thorn-crown
and the sacred head now wounded, and the eyes that were red from weeping and
strong crying in the Garden, and the feet and fingers dripping with blood, and
when I remember this shameful death was endured for love of methen I know
I can rest completely in your finished work, because you were troubled for me.
Isa. 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
You MUST forgive my grievous sin, because you were put to grief for it. I
do not look to Bethlehem for comfort in the star of Christmas; I look to that hill
where the sun was darkened at midday, and the day saw night twice, as the face of
infinite love veiled itself. Lord of life and glory, you were dying, and out from
your wounds distilled the richest healing balm any sinner ever needed! Holy
Spirit, help me exalt high the cross that even more may be drawn to Jesus. Amen.

A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING

Chronological Bible Reading: Lamentations 4-5; Hebrews 13
Thursday, November 10

FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY

Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 1-3; James 1
Friday, November 11

Gal. 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me:

FROM prayr that asks that I may be

Sheltered from winds that beat on Thee,
From fearing when I should aspire,
From faltring when I should climb highr,
From silken self, O Captain, free
Thy soldier who would follow Thee.
From subtle love of softening things,
From easy choices, weakenings,
(Not thus are spirits fortified,
Not this way went the Crucified),
From all that dims Thy Calvary,
O Lamb of God, deliver me.
Give me the love that leads the way,
The faith that nothing can dismay,
The hope no disappointments tire,
The passion that will burn like fire,
Let me not sink to be a clod:
Make me Thy fuel, O flame of God.

Amy Carmichael, 1867-1951

Rom. 12:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

Holy God and Judge:
You made us; teach us to pray. May our souls contact you. May there be a
voice in our prayer for every persons need. Help us become instant in prayer
ready to pray at a moments notice, and waiting on you in prayer. May there not
be a prayerless heart in our church! When we come to Sunday services, each with
a request, answer according to mercy and out of abundance of grace!
We lie humbly before you. We confess our sinsour frequent sin, our
willful sin, our sin against light and knowledge, our sin of heart and thought, our
besetting sin that surrounds us. We have no area of mentality, or member of our
body, or faculty of our will, which has not been defiled with sin. We confess this
with shame. So great has been the stream of sins, we know there is a fountain,
corrupt with pollution, deep within our flesh. The deeper we know ourselves
the more we are shocked by its flow. Help, Lord!
Isa. 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy
rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
We stand before you like the wind-stripped trees. We, by nature, do not
have even one fig leaf to hide behind. In ourselves, we are altogether unprofitable
and admit it.
We wonder you ever showed us such love and mercy as you have in Jesus
Christ. So Lord we thank you how you have saved us from ourselves. We exult in
that salvation, and desire to see others saved also. Save them Lord, especially in
our services! Save them through preaching the gospel. Save them by hearing the
truth of your word. Save them in the Holy Spirits power. From all sin save us!
From all corruption protect us! From all deception help us! Amen.

WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Lamentations 1-3; Hebrews 12
Wednesday, November 9

Phil. 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship
of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
Dear Father:
Let me read this verse as a promise for revival. It has to be easier to raise
me from apathy, laziness and depression than to raise me from the grave. You
give me your resurrection power, so it must really be revival power. Surely you
can restore me from sickness, poverty, slander, woundedness, hurt and despair
once I truly fellowship with Christ in his suffering of the very same things.
The redemption price of the Lord covers every necessity I have. It supplies
every mercy I need, from here to heaven. Grace covers all, and secures me from
danger. You died for me; you live for me; you care for me (let me affirm it).
These are not mere words, this prayer. Make my trust in you both real and
practical, simple and undilutedyet unlimited.
Psa. 130:5 I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
Enrich me by my spiritual poverty. Make me strong out of my apparent
weakness. Give me health by means of sickness. Make me full by emptying me
outfor you have promised again,
Rom. 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that
loved us.
This is what revival will prove. Lord bring it! Then that which seemed to be
the death of my hopes will overthrow my fears. Do it so completely Lord, it will
make me sing. O poverty, where is your misery? O sickness, where is your
suffering? O weakness, where is your loss? O slander, where is your sting?
Before long I will look back on my afflictions with gladness. Give me your
grace to respond in revival until then. Do it because Jesus is worthy. Amen.
SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS
Chronological Bible Reading: Ezekiel 4-6; James 2
Saturday, November 12

Psa. 74:2 Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of
thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.
Pure Father of Light:
I thank you there are two questions that always require negative replies.
Rom. 11:1 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid.
Psa. 77:7 Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?
No! You are never weary of your people. Even when you are angry with me
it is but for a moment, because your goal is my eternal good.
But my grief asks strange questions. Often it also expects unreasonable
answers. It is a wonder of your grace you did not long ago cast me aside like an
unwanted garment. Be patient in mercy, O Lord!
I thank you that from before the worlds foundation I was chosen, and
regarded as redeemed by the blood of the Lamb (Eph. 1:4). Your ancient love will
not die out, and your eternal purpose will not be frustrated. Can you abandon
me? No! Forsake a blood-bought believer? Never! Lose my inheritance?
Impossible! The woes of Calvary, and the covenant they seal are my security.
Psa. 74:12 For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.
I am astonished by your wonders of deliverance: the work of the cross, and
the overthrow of sin, death and hell. You worked out my salvation in the past,
and do not cancel it now. Each past miracle of grace makes me trust you more!
In all my trials I look to you for assistance. If you limit the sea, you can also
restrain my enemies. If you hush the wind, you also control my circumstances.
Being the God of nature, you are also the God of grace. I argue therefore, from
the changing seasons of the year, that you do not mean sorrow to rule my life
forever. Bring me a fall harvest of hope and fruit of joy, in Jesus name. Amen.

WELCOME

PRAYER DIARY

Welcome to our visitors! Please take connection cards from the back of the pew
in front of you, fill out the visitor portion, and put it in the offering plate. You are
our guest and wed like to know you are here!

TIMEWORSHIP

Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.
2)

TITHEWORK

1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God
hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.
3)

TEAMWORD

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)

Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of
walking with us)
Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in
the Word)

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
