I would like to study Chinese language in order to deepen my revisions on general
Chinese culture. As well, it would be very helpful to me because I would be more
capable to study a degree on Wushu at this University, which is a thing of my total interest: I deeply want to develop the knowledge I already have in the area. My interest in the Chinese culture has driven me into the care for sharing it and disseminating, mostly, my knowledge on the the traditional medicine and the martial arts in my country, where, unfortunately, it hasnt been done properly. Over the last five years I have dedicated to the practice of traditional Chinese Kung Fu as well as the modern ones, such as Changquan, Nanquan y Tajiquan of the chan style, at the Centro Mexicano de Cultura y Artes Marciales de China, institution where I perform my activities. Such institution has the goal of promoting the sports and martial arts with the purpose of improving peoples health and letting them enjoy the benefits that this art gives in terms of general wellbeing. At the same time, in coordination with other organizations, such as the Chinese Community and the Chinese Embassy in Mexico, we have dedicated ourselves to organize cultural events in which the members of our group perform traditional exhibitions, such as the dances of the Chinese Dragon and the Chinese Lion. Two years ago, I had the opportunity to come to China. In my visit, I could meet the province of Shaolin. There, I studied traditional styles such as Da Hong Quan, in the charge of Master Shi De Yang, a monk of the 31 st generation of the Shaolin
Temples teachers, at Wusengdizi Gong Fu Yuan School, which is behind such
Temple. I am currently familiarized with general Chinese culture, sports and Kung Fu; nevertheless I consider essential for my integral development the acquisition of the Chinese language. Its strongly necessary in the task of securing the path I have been carving. Chinese martial arts in their most traditional forms require discipline as they appeal to the righteous habits and the self-control. However, in order to make it easy and to transmit it, its crucial to have a solid foundation in terms of theoretical and empirical knowledge so the ones who receive the lessons become capable to reach the success eagerly awaited. For such reason, the excellence of this Institution, the quality of the education and the outstanding teachers make it undoubtedly the best place to start my learning. My immediate plan is, once I have finalized my studies on Chinese language and once I have acquired and improved my understanding and idea transmission skills, I will apply for a degree on Wushu at this very Institution. At the same time, I will pursuit the acquisition of quality knowledge on history, practice and development, which will turn into the path that helps me facilitate and expand in my country this aspect of the bountiful Chinese culture, as well as at any other place in the world.
