Overview
The real world of advertising involves strategy, planning and creativity. If you are looking to
freshen up your skills or looking to move into advertising, a unique suite of programs offered
by Creative Industries and Business provides you with a unique opportunity to do both.
The Graduate Certificate provides an introduction to these dimensions of advertising and then
an opportunity to specialise in the creative or strategic dimensions, with an emphasis placed
throughout the degree programs on the social context of advertising, and the legal and ethical
issues arising in advertising as professional practice.
All units have a strong practical component and once reaching the Masters level, students will
concentrate on meeting the needs of clients through major projects and internships within the
industry. (Would it be possible for this paragraph to be moved one paragraph up?)
Entry Requirements
An undergraduate degree with an overall course GPA of at least 5 (on a 7 point scale).
Applicants with an undergraduate degree with a GPA below 5 but above 4, or applicants
without a degree or formal qualification but with extensive work experience in the advertising
industry may be considered for special entry.
Special entry students may be required to attend a selection interview and present a portfolio
of work. Successful special entry applicants would normally be advised to enrol in the
Graduate Certificate and articulate to the more advanced Graduate Diploma or Masters
degree.
